:bigsmile: Loulou, I tried side planks yesterday and last 15 seconds per side. I did them as part of an afternoon weight training session not in the morning after my regular plank0 -

Well yesterday was interesting!
I had no motivation whatsoever to do my 5 mins of plank! I did start but abandoned after 2.5 mins!!! I gave myself the excuse that I had left my yoga mat at the studio and the surface I was working on wasn't adapted to the activity. HA...total BS really.
So today I got myself motivated, reminding myself that I had engaged for 30 days and those days were not up yet even if I had reached the magical 5 mins. I also did not want to abandon my fellow plankers, Barbiecat and LRKK88 who have kept me so motivated throughout this challenge.
So today's result is
5 mins SF plank
40 secs right and left side plank
I think once the challenge is finished I will incorporate 2 mins of plank, introducing variations eg superman, three legged planks and ditto for side planks, just to keep challenging myself.

:laugh: :laugh: :laugh: Loulou, yesterday I had a similar experience......about half way through my plank I had some imaginary pains and thought maybe I should stop, after all, I had committed to doing a plank every day, not trying to keep up with younger women aiming for 5 minutes and what would it hurt if I stopped at a shorter time:laugh: :laugh: :laugh: I did finish, and am glad that I did.....i made a commitment to you and LKK88 and I intend to continue through the end of the month. I like your idea of continuing with two minute planks and adding side planks to the mix next month. Five minutes is a long time for me especially because I do the plank just before I walk the dogs and having an eager dog lying next to me is distracting.

My original goal was to do a plank every day---I didn't plan on increasing the time as much as I dd. I am pleased at the results, but in October I'll be doing 2 minute planks (maybe more than one) as part of the strength training I want to do. I want to be more consistent and not have it happen on occasional random days.0 -
