Motivating Monday. Add this to your monday check in:

If you've done the roll call, What's your goal for the month and how are you going to work towards that this week??

(If you haven't done the roll call, go do it! lol)

    Moooonday check in!!

Food: I made thin, boneless pork chops for dinner last night so that's going to be part of my lunch. I got some fresh spinach, but I forgot to get some darn tomatoes...gonna see what else I have around here to get a bunch of veggies in today. Breakfast: maybe some scrambled egg whites with some 45 calorie toast with an orange. Dinner...no idea yet!

Water: My intake of water has been pretty poor lately. I usually down at least 5-8oz by mid afternoon, but lately it's been maybe only 3-8oz so I definitely need to whip myself, as well as my water buddy at work, into shape.

My goal for the month is to exercise 20-30 minutes three times a day since my exercise regime is pretty much nonexistent. How am I going to reach this goal? I was thinking of getting up about thirty minutes earlier than I already do to do an exercise video, or do the ab carver with some push-ups or something. I realy need to figure out a regime that will work for me - that I will actually do! Any suggestions?

    Happy Monday everyone.

    Happy Monday Everyone.

    So food..

I planned my meals for the Day but dinner might change from cube steaks to soup since I feel like I am getting sick.

Water as been very poor lately. I have been lucky to make 16 oz in a day(more like 8) and with the amount of caffeine I have been having it has not been fun times. So my mini goal this week is to work on upping my intake back to normal.

I have a new Dance workout DVD I figure I will try that this week. Try and mix it up a bit.

Checked and have a goal of losing 5 pounds this month and get at least 8 cups of water a day. I think I a trying more to just make it week by week.

Good Luck to everybody this week.

Food: Semolina and Lentils for Breakfast. Rice for Lunch. Also had some fried stuff. Dinner...Undecided.

    Water: More than 2.5l

Exercise: Oct so far was undecided in terms of workout. I was planning to do Shred. But there's also a Skinny Jeans Challenge at work. So i'm thinking of incorporating more HIIT and lower body based workouts. So far i have Mari Windsor Pilates, Zuzka and one Youtube video. Gonna make my workout schedule using these videos.

    Hello,

Today i had two glasses of green tea and an apple for breakfast. I don't think I'm eating enough but I woke up late.
I am going to the gym today for weights and zumba.

My goal is to tone and build muscle.
I want to be lean and fit.

Lisa - Welcome Back!!! For me, waking up early or doing it right after work (not starting anything else) is the only way I exercise. If you aren't already waking up too early, I suggest that because then you can workout, shower, and just be done with it. Plus it's kinda cool when you 'feel it' during the day and you know Yeah, I worked out. :) Or you could split it into two 15 minute sessions. Like I said though, I get distracted easily so if I put it off, I'm not doing it.

Rcksiren - Stay well! I caught a cold too so hopefully yours will pass quickly if it is one. I drink hot water with a little honey and lemon juice when I feel a cough at all and that helps my water intake lol. - Good luck with the dance video too. I have a salsa one I like, but I can't do a full hour of it (hurts my hips).

JiaGetsFit - Good luck with the new workout routine. What youtube videos do you use? I like 10 minute abs, legs, buns (they are like 70s or 80s ones?)

Liz - Welcome! Glad you jumped right in! Hope weights and zumba go well. Strength training and heavy lifting is great for toning! I liked P90x, Crossfit, and BodyPump - but it's been awhile since I've done those programs. Check in on what the rest of your meals are, and water. Hopefully the exercises will go well! :)

    My check in.
Breakfast - Homemade cinnamon roll - no frosting. 1 cup milk and 1 cup coffee
Lunch - Grilled cheese (whole grain bread) and 1/2 cup tomato soup.
Dinner - Planned is Chicken legs (grilled) and coleslaw

Water so far is 30oz (Goal is 65!)

Exercise - Planning on doing a 10 minute yoga flex thing when I get home. I'm still under the weather and I'm hurting from work.

SO, because of that, I'm going to throw out there to everyone to... ALWAYS be conscious of your form and posture, even at work. Any type of lifting, twisting, or jolting movement can result in injury especially with weight added. I work in a semi-manual intensive job, but even groceries, moving carts, picking up kids.... Form's important!

(The reason I hurt, is I'm sore - Haven't been working this part of my job in awhile, lol).

    Monday Check in:

    Food-
Breakfast: Scrambled eggs with cheese and avocado, two slices bacon
Lunch: Cheesy Chicken, Spinach and Cauliflower Casserole
Dinner: Burger patty with cheese and a salad

I ended up going over in calories, but I think most of my macros were on point.

Water- Been drinking it steadily all day. I'll probably have some more before bed and have to get up in the middle of the night :-p

Exercise: Half an hour circuit training. I would have done longer but 1) it had been a while and I was sour and 2) I was wicked hungry (plus started my period so wasn't feeling the strongest).

In terms of meeting my goals this week, I'm working on cutting down my pepsi again and in getting more regular exercise which I have been lacking. Tomorrow morning my sister and I are going to the gym. We are determined to get back into some sort of routine. 150 here I come! :-)

JiaGetsFit -I think it's great that you're using youtube videos to work out. My circuit trainings are based on a youtuber named Laura London. Her exercises helped me to gain a butt! Good luck!

    Monday check in:

Food: All healthy choices today and within calorie goal so far

Water- behind but plan to catch up with 2 1/2 more bottles to go!

Exercise- hurt my back somehow ( yoga yesterday???) so need to rest it until better

My goal for this week is to stay on plan when I am not in my usual routine which includes the weekend and this Wednesday, when my husband and I are dining with an old high school friend visiting from Michigan, whom I haven't seen in 28 years, at a fabulous Mexican restaurant. I need to pre plan my food and beverage with reasonable and doable choices.
  • Good news and bad news...

Bad news is I went to olive garden and ate way too much. I forgot my water bottle at home today too, so water intake was no good either :/ but tomorrow is a new day!

The good news is I had an AMAZING day at school today. The director of the program came by and watched me do a blood draw and I executed it perfectly, i got a perfect score on my test, and I found out my grade in the class right now is 100%!! I'm so excited, I've never been this good in school before. I finally found something I'm actually good at and it's a good feeling. Now if I could just lose weight at the same time... Lol

    Monday!
Breakfast: Chia seed omelet with turkey bacon
Lunch: Peppered turkey with spinach and tomato on sandwich thin, 1 cup broccoli, cauliflower, carrot mix, and a mandarin orange
Dinner: Chicken Quinoa Soup with Kale
I had plenty of water, and did 30 minutes on the elliptical and 20 squats for my squat challenge.
I hope everyone had a great day!
My goal for the week is to not let my chem class suck the life out of me.

    Breakfast: Banana, cottage cheese, walnuts.
Lunch: We are having a potluck at work, and I NEVER eat at any of them! But supposedly this is going to be a potluck with healthier selections so I'm going to try my luck out there.
Dinner: Not sure yet - my daughter has her ophthalmologist appointment today at 4 (and it's always a 3 hour wait) so we will all be getting home late.

Water - my intake yesterday was a little better. Baby steps, I guess. Ha. Aiming for my eight 8oz today.

Exercise: I have done 15 minutes of stretching this morning. Will need to see what else I can do!

Haven't been sleeping good lately. Always up early. Passing out by 8pm. It's a little sad.

Happy Hump Day everyone! It's definitely going to be busy at work today..

Tuesday Check in (tried to do this last night but had trouble)

    Food:
Breakfast = Sausage egg and cheese with avocado (no bread)
Lunch = Cheesy spinach chicken and cauliflower casserole
Dinner = Pork Rind and Parmesan Crusted Chicken thigh with side salad

Exercise = 15 minutes on the arc trainer in the morning, 30 minute walk in the afternoon

Water = Lots and lots, especially in the morning. I'd estimate around 10 cups.

Soda = Only one. Whee! Cutting it down.

Side note, I am only a pound heavier than I was before going vacation. So only 7 more lbs to go to my goal weight!

Ugh... Between the forums being down yesterday and then not being able to access them on the website with my phone, I'm just not feeling it today. Honestly it's going to take me a bit to warm up to the new format. Hopefully, we don't lose any posters from this. (Don't leave me!)

    Wednesday Check In:

    Food so far
Breakfast 1/2 egg, 1/2 egg white, 1 piece bacon, banana
Lunch - flank steak (6oz), orange, yogurt, grapes, and banana
    Dinner - TBD

Exercise - Work. I know, I know. I need to actually not rely on work, but semi-manual job, so I'm counting it today!

water - Dehydrated! Up to only 5oz! Bad.

Again, hope to see posters come back. It sucks that we were right on a roll when it all went sideways! Story of life I guess.

    Check in for Thursday!

Add What are you going to do to challenge yourself today!?
  • I like the new format. I hated the way it was before. This way it's way more mobile friendly. I haven't logged on to my laptop yet, but as far as how it is on my phone, I definitely like this format better.

I purposely didn't log in yesterday. I needed a fresh start (AGAIN lol) so I wanted my log in days to match how many days I actually tried, does that make sense? Cuz before it would say "you've logged in for 70 days" and I'd think, "yeah but I didn't really try on most of those days."

I'll check back in later to share how my day went. This was just a "hi, I like the new group format" post lol.

GMstb10: there is a link in the comment box for adding pictures now. The little camera button, it's easier than before. And I think you can click on "BBcode" on the bottom and add pictures the old way, but I'm not sure about that, i haven't tried. Sorry you're not feeling the new format, I hope you get used to it. I don't want you to leave.

I want one of those. The RESTART day. I come here every day though so it just keeps counting.... Mmm maybe if we keep this weekly thread (if people post), I'll skip a day. Lol

Glad you like the format. I need time to adjust to it personally, but like everything, I'll adapt.

Good luck on your new day 1!

  • Thanks Ann!

I'm back to going to the gym again. I tried just dieting to try and focus on that and get a good handle on it, but I just love to eat so I can't afford not to go to the gym. Also, I kept cheating and giving up. Initially, my plan was to stop going to the gym for a little bit so that I wasn't tempted to eat those "extra calories" but I ended up just eating the same junk and logging those extra calories anyway regardless lol.

Let me tell you, missing the gym for even just a couple weeks had me struggling to do things I normally could do so easily. So it really feels like I'm starting all over. It's opened my eyes, I don't want to have to struggle like this again so no more starting over. Consistency is the key!!

Thursdays check in: I was in a hurry and skipped breakfast. I had a cheeseburger mini meal from McD's for lunch then went to the gym for about 30 minutes. Tonight I'm meeting an old friend for dinner at a really good Mexican restaurant. I might go over my calories, but I'm going to try not to.

    Thursday Check in

Food: Same as before for breakfast and lunch. Boyfriend decided to surprise us for dinner and made up a bunch of stuff, of course all more carby then what I should be eating, but I still ate it. Not feeling awesome right now, but I'm not sure if it's the food or the flu shot I had today.

Water: Lots of water. At least 10 cups

Exercise: 15 minutes of arc trainer this morning. 30 minutes of walking in the evening.

I should have challenged myself to still get in an afternoon work out too, but at least I made myself do something this morning.

My challenge to myself was to weigh in and drink more water.

Did both. I lost weight but I'm 100%/sire its water which is bad. I am on my way towards hydration though! Drank 65oz today, just barely. But still feeling thirsty and dry mouth from dehydration yesterday.

Food, did well enough. Got off at dinner...

Exercise, nothing outside of work. Became stupid tired during work today so I need to recover. I think I need a chiropractor or masseuse too; neck's just kinked up which ia adding to the exhausted feeling.

How funny! It was really good! I only ate half my plate, but I'm sure I still ate too much. It was a BIG plate lol.

    Hope you feel better soon!
