Bought a small Crock-Pot for $20 @ Walmart a week ago. Tried it out last night. Put some Cajun dry-rubbed spices on 3 lb. beef pot roast, added: bacon, mushrooms, onion, celery, coconut oil, and a few baby carrots. Set for 10 hours. Woke up this AM and checked it out. OMGosh!
I took a tablespoon and easily cut the meat in the pot and tasted it..
...WHY OH WHY did I start my water fast today?!?!? LOL!

Crock Pots are awesome! Just throw together a meal and let it cook while I am at work.
I did my last goose breast from last year Sunday. Two beers and the breast and it was awesome after an eight hour shift.0 -

Where can you buy goose breast? Is it fatty? I wonder where to get duck also?

Fasting on a crockpot day? That's insanity!
Back when I was single mom my kids and I lived mainly off crockpot meals. If I had time on the weekends I'd make a month's worth of food to freeze and have later. A typical Sunday had 2 or 3 crockpots going at the same time.
Those nostalgic times makes me want to do that again. My husband, while at home, doesn't do much cooking and surely not according to my dietary standards for me and the kiddos.0 -
Wow that's awesome. I like the fact that the fat stays with the meal, as opposed to BBQ'ing it on my grill where the fat drips off. You probably have to modify your Crock-Pot recipes to be more Keto friendly? Like using lo-carb veggies...0

I'll probably stick to crock pot pre-prepped meals so the family can modify what they like. For pasta and rice dishes I make those items separate anyway. Hey--don't forget to make the bone broth. I did that in a crock pot about a month ago it was amazing (I'm certain its fatty or can be made to be) Bone broth has so flavor!0 -

I got some last year I hunted. Mostly Snow Geese. Low fat, breast only.
I saw Peking Buck at ALDI's! Almost got one.

I use to do that when I was married and the girls were at home. Now single, I still make a couple of roast on the weekend and put the measured baggies in the freezer for easy week day meals.

Thanks Jerry, we have an Aldi's a few miles from my house. I don't normally shop there, but I'll look this weekend.
