Back and biceps today. (And abs, doing with every workout)
My shoulders have gotten a little "crunchy", which sometimes happens to me for some reason. Doesn't happen so much when I'm doing isolation exercises at the gym, but happens often when I workout a lot at home. Idk why. Will just have to be careful.
Got plenty of steps yesterday and my ankles were sore this a.m. during warmup. Will be paying attention to them as I increase daily steps back to normal.
Hope everyone is having a great day!

Have a blessed and healthy day to all my pals!!0 -

Good morning everyone
Woke up to the sun today, its about time. Seems like its been so dreary lately and my mood has been too. Today will be a pick me up. I did get out to run just over 6K yesterday, first day this fall that i've had to wear my winter running gear. Hat...mitts...long tights. I actually don't mind running in the cold weather, I don't like the snow mind you, but I don't mind the cold.
My instructor for my exercise class was away all last week so I'll be going tonight, hopefully a good strength workout. I really need November to be a good month. Last winter, after christmas I gained close to 10lbs. Then, when Spring hit....I took it off. I can even express how miserable I was with this added weight on and I really don't want that to happen again this year.
Welcome aboard Dtermined! Nice to have you with us

Morning everyone!
I've been on a plateau for quite some time. I've decided to forgo the 1700 calories I had decided on months ago, and go with MFP recommendation of just over 1900 calories. Interestingly enough, yesterday was my first day trying it and ended up being way under calories. I think it was a psychological thing. It's been so hard for me to stay under the 1700 that I kind of give up a bit at the end of the day if I've gone over. So I do this yo-yo of what I eat. Yesterday I stayed under easily. Hopefully I it will continue to be this successful! I need to get my eating habits more in hand since I won't be able to do much by way of workouts the rest of the year.
Got some yard work done yesterday, and so far been doing well at getting my house deep cleaned. I should be more than ready when I finally have my surgery!
Have staff meeting today at church, and we normally go out to eat. Hopefully I can make some healthy choices about what I eat!0 -
Well I'm back (again). The past three weeks have not been good. I don't know if my sickness is mental or physical, but I've been feeling bad, eat badly, and not getting the exercise in.
I started anew last week, did well on Monday and Tuesday. Then on the way home from my trainer workout, in the dark, without being dressed brightly or having anything to light my way, I fell on the sidewalk. The sidewalk really was badly broken up right there. I landed on knees, palms, and chin. My capris kept my knees fine as I didn't fall too hard on them, my palms fell on reasonable cement, but my chin must have fallen on something sharp. So after saying "Ow", I got up and headed home. I was very close. I realized quickly that I was bleeding so, I pressed my left hand to my chin so slow it down. I went home, grabbed a gauze pad, my purse, and my car keys and went to a local all night clinic.
After an hour wait, my cut seemed to ease off the bleeding into the pad and a doctor was able to see me. An hour after that I went home. He had wanted to put a stitch into the chin, but I rejected that. If it was serious enough to need stitches - multiple - then I might have considered it, but it was small and deep, not large. So he used some stuff that stopped the bleeding and told me that if I wouldn't let him stitch it, that I had to not remove the pad that he was putting on for 4-5 days. I also got a tetanus shot.
BTW, the doctor and I agreed that if I had timed it right I would have had a terrific Halloween costume. I had thick dried blood covering my hands and arms to the elbow and of course some on my face. Looked great and so realistic! Both the nurse and the doctor initially wanted to treat my hands/arms which looked so bad, yet were uninjured, rather than the chin which wasn't as impressive looking.
So I went back into my miserable, eat too much, don't exercise mode, with a don't shower added on. I did use the tub, but was really really careful to keep a bandage over the pad and my chin as dry as possible for the rest of the week. My chin hurt and itched and hurt (still hurts). My shoulder hurt. I was sorry for myself.
Monday morning I took my first shower in almost a week. It was wonderful! The pad got wet, dried and shriveled, and fell off. My chin is healing fine. Yesterday I ate correctly, but didn't get the exercise in due to a family crisis. I was on the phone with family members all evening. Today I will go back to my trainer workout. I'm going to come up with a November exercise plan for the rest of the month and stick with it!
Lose weight! Exercise (but don't trip)! Feel great!

Donna that's quite an ordeal! I bought a headlamp about a month ago and haven't actually used it yet because I've been kind of wimpy about the cold so I've been running on the treadmill during the week (and during daylight hours on the weekend), but tried it on and it's surprisingly comfortable. I bought this one (in blue):

When I bought the bike trainer I told myself I would ride it 2 mornings a week before work. This morning I finally decided it was time to get in the habit of doing that, so I rode for 30 minutes. I also packed a bag to go swimming after work. I understand the pool is busy after work most days (I've only been there Friday evenings or Saturday mornings) so I threw my gym shoes & shorts in the bag too with the thought that I can use the regular part of the gym until the pool opens up if necessary. One of my co-workers said there's usually lanes open by 5:45 (I work until 5:00 so it would likely be 5:15 before I even get there). They have an indoor track on the upper level (there's glass so I can see people walking around it when I'm in the pool) so I want to check that out and see if that would be a running option this winter too. If I'm paying for a day pass anyway I can multi-task. In December and March they offer day passes half price so I'll need to stock up.0
