Thought I'd start off the new week.

1st fast of the week, and completed week 6 of C25K. 22 mins of jogging. Still gets me when I think back to week 1 and 90 seconds was tough.

Hope everyone has a good week.

That is great! I still don't manage to run more than 10 minutes and even that got me soooo proud!

    Yay yay new week :D

Done 14 weeks y'all! Overall lost 40.6 since July and 33 with this group since 8/5/2014. Best part, this week officially brought me under 300 pounds. Hasn't set in yet! I felt stuck there forever and that my next step would just to keep getting bigger and bigger...350...375...who knew where it was going to stop.

There isn't a huge change, but thought I would share. Started at 339, but this before is at 329 and the "in progress" on right is 299, so 30 pound difference pic.

    nh3ippa7c1tg.jpg

I'm actually glad to see even a bit of change in my upper stomach because with my big ole hips I won't be really seeing any difference in the mirror for a loooong time.

    Wow...that's cool...same clothes, what a great idea.

I see a difference...your stomach, your upper back, your upper arms, your upper thighs, even your chin...I can see changes in all, and I'll say this too (cuz I wanna), you can see your "true" butt starting to form...teehee...it's going to be magnificent when your done. Trust me, I'm an expert on these(those) things.

Fast day for me today! This week I need to continue my focus to get off sugar. I can't believe how easy it is to give into it - twists your thinking around I think :) Tonight I'll also get in some weight lifting and maybe some time on the elliptical! Hope everyone has a great day!!!

Fast day for me as well. Usually on Tues., but since I have tomorrow off, and it's suppose to be our last day of warm, I'm planning on doing a long ride, so will need the calories.

Thanks so much everyone! You're definitely reminding me to keep positive and appreciate every change!

Feel like I'm spamming, but just wanted to share this to encourage everyone to go take measurements and take pictures to track your progress.

I don't see much of a difference in the mirror, except for the my upper stomach which I know always deflates a bit first. However, when I look at this view again side by side, I had no idea my hips were even shrinking a little, little bit haha. Since my proportions aren't going to change dramatically any time soon, it's distorts my view in the mirror because I still have the same shape...but there are changes peeking through.

Sorry for the weird/awkward pose, but I definitely recommend this for anyone wanting to track changes in arm flab haha.

Same progress- 10 pounds down in the first at 329 and then 40 pounds down in second at 299. 30 pound difference in pic.

@orlcam it's not going anywhere any time soon haha. And about same clothes- I definitely recommend picking out something stretchy that will show off the "contours" haha. Looking forward to it getting loose!

    @mwhite good idea!

@carlsoda that's why I'm nervous to have sugar on my regular eating days haha. once you start, it's hard to stop. but the fasting days definitely help me cut it out because I want to use my calories on something that will fill me up.

@debbie go girl go! you can do it :)

@neonbeige thanks! gotta cut that negative creep in my head trying to come back!

@gle i didn't even notice my thighs before you mentioned it! i only expected to see the bit of upper stomach change i can see everyday in my clothes, so change in my thighs is a major win. thanks for pointing it out!

TDEE day for me! (Sorry to the fasters haha. I'll be with you tomorrow, though :P)

great job @carbmonster!!! thank you for trusting us and sharing these! i'm am still terrified to post pics but have not had as much success as you either. nice work and you are looking great and YOU have inspired me. TY!

my second week of 5:2. Today is my first fast day this week.

so far, so good. need to plan my dinner soon so I don't goof it all up. i'm doing things a bit different i think in that i take in some calories in veggie broth through day and a berry/protein smoothie if i get too spacey to work so i want to keep my dinner super high in protein, ok with some fat, trying to keep it free of carbs as much as possible. could use some simple ideas. right now i am going with sliced turkey and avocado with hot sauce :)

@carbmonster - awesome job! You can so totally see your fantastic progress!

Not weighing myself this month as an experiment but had another random compliment about my recent weightloss today so know I'm still doing ok.

Going to try 4:3 this week as I have such big weekends (it's almost summer here and I can't stay away from the vodka/wine/salty snacks when the sun is shining)...and two fast days in a row (today and tomorrow). So far so good, but it's not even lunchtime!

Phew, yesteday´s fasting war hard. I had to eat some vegetables before dinnertime. And I was looking forward big time to breakfast :-D But I was able to stay withing the calories, or almost, went around 11 over or so.

But I am thinking of switching my days. Now I fast thursdays and tuesdays, but they are a) very close together - which ist not the big dealbut b) the NFD are 5 four in a row and I had the feeling that at the 4th day I started binging a lot. Usually since I fast I have my appetite pretty much under control, but last monday was pretty bad...hmpf. Maybe I try with tuesday and friday or monday and thursday instead...

Yesterdays fasting was difficult for me since I didn't eat anything solid until dinner. I banked all my calories for my father-in-law's birthday dinner. Then got upset stomach after, from zero food to food. I didn't eat anything oily but still it upset me.

    My next fast is Friday.

TDEE day for me today, and I will keep it healthy. I need to get my normal days under control now, as I have been eating more rubbish food. Even though I've stayed around my TDEE I've not been eating consciously, so have been feeling like I'm constantly hungry even though I know I'm not.

I will get back to losing again.

First fasting day for me this week! Busy morning so just had coffee- about 30 cals, had 200 cals for lunch and will have 500ish for dinner.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Almost at feeding time on my 2nd fasting day in a row. Haven't done this before and so far it seems to be going well. I'm pretty much fine after 1pm as that's when I have all my food (2 meals and 2 snacks between then and 7pm). That will make 3 fasting days this week and I wont feel so guilty when I let things slide over the weekend again.

VERY curious to know what 4:3 does for me on the scales, but am committed to No Weigh November so will just have to wait.

    Go well my friends.

So far no fast day this week. Everyone decided to celebrate their birthday this week. OK I am exaggerating, however, it has been a week of parties and my son had a field trip today. I am wiped out. I may fast tomorrow depending on how I feel in the morning. Or I may just postpone 5:2ing until next week.

Glad to see so many of you doing well. Keep up the good work. You lovely dear ones are so worth it.

Weigh-in day for me today. Down 2.2lbs :) Happiness and Joy!! This is the lowest number I have ever seen, but I guess if the trend continues I will continue to see lowest numbers.

For me I have never had a low weight. There's no skinny jeans to get into. I've always had a high weight ever since I was 16 (maybe even earlier) so this is all brand new territory for me. I have no idea what I will look like at a low weight. A bit scary really, my true self, I've never met her :# .

@carbmonster really inspired me to look back at old photos of me...seeing where I've been. I never made official before and after (@carbmonster your before and after will be so nice and neat, same clothes same pose) I wish I had thought to do that too, but looking back has really helped. Why is it that it so difficult to appreciate where we're at now. I'm at my lowest ever, but I keep thinking 'look at my tummy...my thighs...that roll'. But by looking back it has helped me see where I'm really at. Thanks @carbmonster!

This weeks fasting went well. Monday I ended up being under 500 because I had budgeted a yogurt, but forgot all about it. Wednesday's fast I went 150 over, however I didn't eat all of my dinner, so I don't know how many calories I didn't have. For me though, a successful week.

Can't wait to see where 5:2 can take me...actually I can wait because considering that I have been basically at my 'cubby' weight for nearly 20 years I can wait a year or so to get where I want to be, that's only a drop in the bucket.

Hope everyone having a good week! Oh and (sorry I just keep taking/typing) I just wanted to give thanks to all of you on this site...especially those of you that have been writing regular...Its so reassuring to know that you all will be there the next time I log on, so THANKS.

@carbmonster - thank you for posting pictures! the changes are amazing.
    - It is inspiring me to take pictures, I am a slow loser ( .5 pounds per week) and dont see a difference in the mirror. I will take some pictures as hopefully that will keep me inspired.

I normally fast tuesday/thursday as I work from home on those days, so I am busy and not surrounded by free food and that works well. I fasted tuesday this week and came to office today ( thursday) and have already had my normal breakfast, plus 1/2 a huge bagel, cream cheese and hard boiled egg. I am already over 500 for today so will try a fast tomorrow.

Does anybody do 24 hours fasts instead of the 36? like today I could start my fast by 5 pm and then fast until 5 pm tomorrow but not sure how effective that is?

    thanks

    Angela

@snaps I feel you! I am working my way back down and wanting to discount my progress. I keep wanting to degrade myself by saying I'm just losing weight that I've regained time and time again and I'm not even back down to my lowest "adult" weight. But it's so important to look back at your journey and learn from it. For me, I had to forgive myself for the times I couldn't help myself. I was floundering and am just thankful I got out of the hole I thought I was going to be in forever.

Now, my mindset has changed completely. I am so thankful for every pound. Even if I was lower before or gained it back, it's because weight was just a symptom of something else I needed to deal with. Now, I feel like weight is a symptom again, but of something so much better. It's like a side effect of better things and finally taking back control.

@snaps27 - Congratulations on another 2.2 lbs! You are doing great!

@snaps27 and @thecarbmonster I am so inpired by you both. When I want to complain about having to lose 20 lbs I remember how you have more to lose and keep showing up week after week getting the job done. So glad I get to be pulled along by the tailwind you ladies create.
