    I am interested in joining.

    SW about 360 (didnt have a scale that would weigh me)
    GW 250
    Lw 331.8
    CW 331.8

    Im 26 and ready to feel like it. Tired of not having any energy and tired of the pain in my feet and knees that i can only assume comes from years of carrying around all the weight. I lost 50 lbs with MFP last year but have since gained 20 or so of it back. Hopeing this group will help keep me motivated. Thanks.

    Gooood Morning and a Happy New Years to all.

    I am happy to see that we have some new folks that are joining us and hopefully we can motivate and help each other reach those goals we all strive for.

    For the new guys, my name is Tim. the way it has worked in the past is that sometime during the week you will send me or just post your updates here. On Friday, I will post a chart showing where we stand amongst each other and the previous week. I do this at work because it is just easier for me here than on my laptop at home. I will color code these. Sometimes we lose some weight, sometimes we may put on a little or just not show any change. Whatever it is, please don't be embarrassed or shy. Just be honest with yourself and us and post accurately.

    Feel free to ask or give advise. I can always use some constructive criticism.

    So, a big welcome to BFDeal, AgentOrangeJuice and jeffviets. Thank you for giving your stats.

    To chgodvr and Bstoltey1, also a welcome and give me your stats when you get a chance if you would like to be included in this week's chart.

    I have dropped the men that have not sent an update in the last 6 months. Here is a chart showing who I currently have with the latest information. It is not in order. I will do the normal chart on Friday.

    If any of you have things you would like to see on here or a better way of me doing this, please don't hesitate to ask. Also, if you know of any men you think might be interested, let them know. I will wait to close this group for a bit.

    Thanks again everyone. Lets make 2015 our year!

    Happy New Year Men! Welcome AgentOrangeJuice, it's good to have some new faces.

    CW = 204.3
    LWW = 204.0
    Gain = 0.3

    Pretty much stayed even with the holidays. I've been good this week about my eating and logging calories. Hopefully that will pay off with a bit of loss by next week.

    LWW = 226

    Gain: 1.4 lbs, my 226 weight was from 12/28/2014, and I had a helluva NYE feast, I started this week at 231.4 on Monday and have been making the right choices to get back to 227.4, let's see what I wake up at in the morning :)

    Not to bad for my first week on the diet but i imagine the losses will be smaller and smaller as i continue. It always seems like the first 5 to 10 lbs falls right off np but after that i pretty much have to work my butt off to see any further progress.

    Good afternoon guys. I had hoped a few more would have joined us this week. If any of you know someone in your MFP friends list that might be interested or benefit from this, please pass the invite along to them.

    jeffiets is this weeks winner. Fantastic job!

    AgentOrangeJuice and jeffviets, you guys have lost a substantial amount of weight already. Do you have any tips or insight that you think may help some of us out??

    Here is this week's chart.

    Tips for losing weight: Be honest with yourself about what you ate and why the scale isn't moving.

    So many people argue "calorie in/calorie out" is the only way to weight loss, but it's so much more than that. I'm a firm believer in the quality of calories you put into your bodies helps you achieve this goal more so. The American diet has been marketed to us to eat 16 oz steaks, double thick pork chops, double cheese burgers with a 4 oz side of french fries. We should be eating 16 oz of vegetables and 4 oz of meat.

    People ask me all the time, why I don't eat cow dairy. Through billions of years of evolution, cows milk has evolved for the sole purpose of adding 300 lbs to baby cows. It wasn't intended for wholesale consumption by humans. The difference in fat levels in Whole Milk and Skim Milk is 1% fat content, 1%.

    I hate using the word "diet" because it has such a negative connotation, even though its dictionary definition is "the food you eat."

    Thanks for the input. I recently started with a new doctor that one of his specialties is obesity. He gave me a lot of information but also recommended me to a nutritionist. I went in for my first appointment a couple of days ago. I am currently logging everything. We are going to focus on lessening my carb intake and portion size this next few weeks.

    This last Sunday was my first time back on a racquetball court since my knee replacement in Oct of 2013. I had previously lost about 70 pounds but gained it all plus some back when my knees started giving out and finally went in for replacement.

    I am taking it easy on the courts and doing more treadmill and elliptical. Once I can drop 50 - 70 pounds, I am going to try and get back into a little more competitive play.

    I don't know that i have any tips. Like i said earlier i think i just got first week luck with an extreme drop in my calorie intake. I try to eat a grapefruit first thing in the morning to start my metabolism with a glass of water then about 30 mins later ill drink some coffee and have about a 400 calorie breakfast with some source of protein. A big salad with small portion of chicken (protein) and a couple tbsp of fat free Italian and then for dinner i take agentoranges route with 4 to 6 oz of meat and a good size helping of 2 veggies. You can eat like a whole can of green beans for under a hundred calories.

    I've started reducing my cardio (running and elliptical) in favor of strength training. I find the high cardio makes me super hungry and i need to work through this plateau. And nothing burns fat like muscle. I bought a book on recommendation from a friend "You Are Your Own Gym: The Bible of Bodyweight Exercises," it's really eye opening.

    I know I need to start weight training but I am just not looking forward to it. My buddy has a TRX system which we can set up in his garage but the cold and our schedules just never seem to cooperate.

    Hopefully we will have a little better participation next week. Also, if you want to put an invite out, please feel free.

    Have a great week.

    Checking in:
    LWW = 204.3
    CWW = 201.4
    Loss = 2.9

    Go HAWKS!
    Although the Super Bowl will probably be bad for weight watching. I suppose it's a sacrifice I will have to make.

    Loss- 3.1

    My current diet and exercise plan seem to be working really well for me. I go back to my nutritionist next Wednesday. Curious (and scared) to see what changes she will have me make for the next month.

    Dave, fantastic job on the 2.9 loss. You are just about back in the 100's. Agent, another good week and consistently headed in the right direction. Nicely done. I'm hoping at least a couple others weigh in today.

    Here is the updated version with chgodvr added. Hope you all have a great week.

    For the new guys, I usually use blue for losses, red for gains and yellow for no change. Sometimes I forget and might use a different color but it will be self explanatory.

    I had a bought with the Large Pizza this week, working on recovering, the high sodium always makes me retain water, let's hope I can trim it down with some blood sweat and tears.

    I'll be at the Karate Dojo twice this week and doing DDP Yoga at home, as well as a couple nights of strength training. Wife made some awesome Black Bean Stew, served over brown rice, I top it with 2 fried eggs. There's very little I won't put 2 fried eggs on.

    I have a second appointment with my nutritionist today. I'm curious what she will recommend me change in my diet for the next few weeks. I've cut back on carbs and am watching my calorie intake as well. I've done a pretty good job as far as logging everyday too. My wife doesn't like it and she is probably right, but I've been relying on nutrition bars a little too much to supplement my meals.

    AgentOJ, man, who doesn't like fried eggs? I used to do Taekwondo. Kinda wish I would have stayed with it. I was doing P90X and found that yoga is probably the thing I hate most. It is more a form of torture as far as I'm concerned. I am baffled by people that say they do this for relaxation. There are 2 things I've found fat people shouldn't be doing, wearing yoga pants and doing yoga.

    I'm planning on being a little bad during Super Bowl. Anyone else have plans???

    Go Hawks!!!

    Plans are up in the air, we were going to take my 5 year old to an indoor water park hotel an hour and a half north of us, but theyre calling for a foot of snow, so we might need to cancel. If we're superbowling it, i forsee some brat burgers topped with coleslaw.

    Good for you!!! I hope Mother Nature gives you a break in the weather. Wish my kids were that age again. Just waiting for grandkids to come along and spoil now! :)
