C25k Week 2/Day 1: Fail!

Went out to start Week 2/Day 1 this morning and made it through the first interval of jogging, then walked. When the second jog time came up I started off but had to stop because I was in a lot of pain.
Somehow I injured my back either Saturday or before. It was very sore but not painful like today when I finished out Week 1 with Day 3 on Saturday. It hurt a little when jogging but again not that bad so I just kept going and finished that part.
Today the pain was just too much for me to just push through it. The pain is in my mid back (lats), which really gets me because I figured if I was going to feel any pain or be injured doing this then it would be something in my legs. Now I pretty much don't know if I'll be able to even do c25k this week at all. So do I re-do week 1 when I can again? Or just start week 2 when I can. I was pretty frustrated...finished out just walking the whole distance anyway.

Sorry to hear you're frustrated. Never push through pain, but let things heal properly.
You don't mention at all how the first week went. If it felt all right, I'd move on to week 2 and see how that goes. If week 2 seems too much, maybe re-take a day or two of week 1 until you feel ready to move on.
Remember there's no hurry anywhere, but if you do things the right way, you can potentially run for the rest of your life.0 -
I would personally do week 1 over if I missed a whole week, since we dont have a lot of running to fall back on, like later week people might.0

Week 1 wasn't bad at all. Day 1 was kinda hard but to be expected since I haven't ran in a decade or two. Day 2 was a little rougher but still not bad. Day 3 with the exception of the slight discomfort/little back pain was good. The weather sucked so I got rained on. I think my problem was running with the slight pain...it probably didn't help.

I agree. I will probably repeat week 1 anyway...going to stick to walking this week and hope that a week away from c25k helps my back pain go away.

All right, thanks for providing more information. I think I might do a fourth day of week 1 in that case, just to warm up things so to speak, and check with your body how stuff feel, whether you need more time to rest due to the back or not. And based on how that day goes, you're ready to move on to week 2 Hope the healing goes quickly, it's always a nuisance!0 -
Basically everyone has told you what I was going to say. But also make sure your stretching properly. If you are looking for a good stretch I would suggest the sworkit app- yoga for runners and their stretch programs. I use it everyday, and I always feel amazing after. Source- completed c25k program.0

But I'm kinda techno geek so I'm all for an app that has stretches...I'll have to check it out thank you!0
