I'm on schedule with my PiYo workouts. So far the vids are 20 minutes long, which is unusual for me. I normally do 30 minutes to an hour of working out depending on what I'm doing.

  • Is anyone eating more on the vegetarian side? I've been upping my intake of animal protein, but have been researching that it's not as healthy as plant protein. What is everyone else's take on this and your source of protein? I've been thinking of scaling back but am not sure if that's the best option at this point since the scale is actually starting to move again and I feel the muscle in my body beginning to build and get stronger. Any input is appreciated!

I would not be the one to get your advice from, as I am a definite carnivore. I would love to use more plant protein but my family would think I was crazy if I didn't have meat on the table and it's just easier for me to make one thing for every one. Quite frankly, I love meat! I have been trying to eat less meat and carbs with my meals though and eating more fruits and vegies. One day we will find the right balance.

    Hey Lindsay,

Two summers back my Dad read a book called Eat to Live and experimented with this kind of diet. He was able to drop 30 lbs eating mostly vegan/vegetarian..sometimes fish. Unfortunately, he did gain most of it back because it wasn't something he could maintain. I guess the rest of us in the house were bad influences ;-) Anyhow, it's worth a try! I notice that the cleaner I eat, the better I feel. It's the peer pressure on top of the temptations that makes it so hard.

I think you shouldn't change your diet until you hit a plateau. If it's working right now, just wait!

    xoxo,

    Caitlin

So I've been doing a mix of exercises!

Yesterday I did a combination of weights, planks, crunches, sit ups..and I kind of forget what else lol The trainers kept getting in my way :-(

I need to be better about recording what I do!

Today I did TRX (suspension training) and kettlebell training. Both great strength workouts.
