Hi all!
My husband and I fell off the wagon and want to get back on. I'm hoping that having the MFP app will keep me honest and motivated to stay the course this time around.
I am wondering how you modified your nutrition goals as far as fats, carbs, protein, etc. Do I just dial down the carbs and up the others? Do I still need to fall within the calorie limits MFP set for me? I'm obviously a total noob at this haha.
Thanks in advance for any input!

No expert here, but I kept my calories the same. For loosing weight, I try to keep my carbs under 100g, my protein between 90-100g (1g/lean body weight) and the rest fat. Your protein and fat may be more or less, but the carbs are pretty much under 100g for loosing. Some people do 50g for carbs. I found that if I stay between 50-100g, that worked.0

^Yep!
I personally find it hard to eat as much protein as I should. I just get full. Mostly, don't obsess with your macros. Eat a protein source and veggies with a little fruit each meal. Eat to satisfaction. Eat when hungry, and try not to snack. Snacking is an indication that you're not eating enough unless you're having a big exercise day. Record it if you want, but don't follow MFP's guidelines.

MFP default calorie settings suck; they are far too low usually. I modified my own macros to what works for me, but I also don't always track because after two and a half years of being Paleo I was over it. I'm tracking a bit right now while I'm getting my act back together. For me, I have a high fat, moderate protein, and low carb eating plan (try to stay under 50 grams carbs, keep sugar <25grams). I let my body dictate how much protein to eat. As long as I keep my fat high, carbs low, everything else is just automatic; even the calories. No need to mess with a perfect machine.... perfect when fed only nourishing foods.0
