Just wanted share one of my favorite lunch meals! Mason Jar salads You can layer a variety of veggies, grains, proteins, lettuce and dressing in one jar. The layering method keeps the wet and dry ingredients separate. I usually use a quart jar.
Layer in this order starting at the bottom:
Dressing
Chopped veggies like carrots, celery, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, peppers, radish, onions...
Protein like cooked meats, beans, tofu, sliced hardboiled eggs...
Grains like rice, pasta, quinoa...
Lettuce, spinach, etc goes on top
On the very top you can add delicate things like seeds, nuts, fresh herbs, fancy cheese, some fruits...
You can make up to 5 in advance and store them in the fridge.
Also they are really cute

This sounds like a wonderful idea for taking lunch to work without ending up with dressing all through my bag!

I've seen these on Pinterest but haven't tried them yet. I've been wanting to though. Do you eat them in the jar? Is there enough room to stir the dressing around the salad when you are ready to eat it? I know it has to be packed pretty tight.0

Hey @jlewisrn74 I made one today and brought it to work. Definitely had to dump it into a large bowl for optimal tossing. Will just keep the bowl at work. I love these salads!0
