Laura - I forgot to respond yesterday and tell you that I'm feeling 100%! So far no problems and I've been able to get my training in!
It was interesting looking at my goals. I did very well in the workout portion...but the eating and sleeping are not so hot. Yesterday I went over my calorie count. Partly because I didn't wear my fit bit for part of the day so I think my calorie burn was a bit off. I also made a higher calorie dinner for the kids and ate some too. But, I did not snack on anything I shouldn't have. I made good choices as far as what I eat, even if I went over. So I'm still working it out but I am still counting that one as a win.
I need to be getting more sleep! I end up with crazy whirlwind days and don't get to bed when I should. I'm definitely slowly improving. It used to be I never got more than 6.5 hours of sleep. But I definitely should be getting around 7.5 to function properly. But at least I'm headed in the right direction...just need to keep plugging along.
Last night I was on track to get to bed on time...but some friends of ours ended up with their good friend at death's door in the ER. So I brought them all food as the waited to find out what was going to happen to him. It set me back and hour and I'm tired this morning, but it was worth it to be able to get them some food while they're in this stressful time.
Today is my longer run, going to go for 40 minutes. I also have my lower body strength training today. I'm hoping to get a nap in too.
Have a great Sunday!0 -
(Yawn) all this talk of sleep (or lack thereof) makes me want a nap too...and I just might!! I always do this as travel approaches--my body shuts down. DH is packing and figuring out loose ends and I'm slipping into a nap-coma. Anyway, took a nice 4.5mi run down to the coast, stretched, walked down the coast a bit and back, and it was the perfect recovery....then I decided to run home too. D'oh! So I converted my perfect 4.5mi recovery run into an 8miler, but stretched good afterwards and feel pretty good. Main thing is that the backache is gone, replaced by a slight nagging abdominal cramping, but much better than the backache and I'm relieved that was, in fact, menstrual-related, so no back problems, etc.
(Yawn) okay seriously...I'm gonna catch a nap! Y'all have a good one. I'm gonna try to get the March goals thread up later, if no one else does.0 -
My workout for Sunday, March 1:
24 minutes upper body weights
15 minutes lower body
Total: 39 minutes
I also worked this morning (my second job is at a store), and I definitely got a workout there too, unpacking boxes, stocking shelves, etc. I never really stand still there.0 -
Glad you're feeling better Val!
Sherry you must not be having any foot/ankle problems anymore? 8 miles the day after 14 miles -- I couldn't do it. That's amazing. Glad you're able to get in some longer runs before your husband is gone.
Nice activity day Rising, between work & workout!
My rest day today. Got in a 2 hour nap, did some laundry & light cleaning, etc. I went to the grocery store fairly early this morning for a couple of things I needed right away, but otherwise have contentedly stayed in the house.0
