I am 16 days post-op and have noticed my stomach makes extremely audible noises when digesting now, is this normal? It was really bad today, I apparently ate too fast trying (or ate too close to taking my giant potassium pills..) to get ready to leave the house and ended up in the worst pain through my back and stomach and eventually (45 minutes later) ended up throwing up and felt better..but the rest of the day I noticed my stomach would make extremely loud noises when taking even small sips of water. Other people can hear them and it's kinda embarassing.

So normal! It'll get better but might not completely go away. Just make sure you don't mistake those rumbles for hunger. There's a definite difference and you'll learn to tell them apart.

Yea I haven't mistaken them for hunger..they are just awkward in public LOL..I had to explain to my job councelor today that I just had stomach surgery. I wasn't sure if they were normal or not..my mom thought I was weezing today! I'm like no..it's my stomach

I'm only 3 days post op but I've had some stomach "noises" myself. Am worried about getting embarrassed too!

They do get better. For me, once I started eating more foods and drinking less protein drinks it actually got a lot better. As did the gas. I'm "normal" now. I'm on soft foods and eat 3 times a day and I don't have any of the noises or pains or anything like I had early on.

I'm 4+ months post op and my stomach is very noisy, especially at night. My husband has actually woke up asking if the noise was my stomach and if I was ok. Of course, I'm fine. It doesn't hurt, it's just loud.

Lol...I'm 3 1/2 years post-op and mine sounds like a bear sometimes. I have a friend at work who has heard it and he'll ask me if I need to tame the beast. He knows about my RNY and understands my tummy has a voice of it's own. It's the backfiring that worries me the most!

I'm almost 3 years post op from sleeve and still have stumble noises. I asked the WLS program surgeon about it at one of my yearly post op visits. She said everyone's stomach makes those noises it is just now that I am smaller and don't have all that weight/fat around it can be heard now.
