Diet sodas... stomach pain/nausea?

I'm on day 8 of keto (something tells me I'll be posting very often, sorry about that).
I had a great morning hike today so I decided to give myself a treat... stopped by In n Out and got a double double, protein style and a med size diet cola.
I also forgot to ditch the burger dressing (first time on a drive thru since I started the diet).
Left half of the diet soda in the car, so about an hour an a half later I went out and finished the soda while driving. 15-20 minutes later I started feeling sick, like nauseous. At some point I was sure I was going to have to pull over in the freeway to throw up.
Nothing happened, but my stomach was upset.
I came home and was hungry (weird cause I stopped eating so much since I started the diet), I ate some bacon and made an omelette. (I was feeling better).
Hours later, my stomach is still upset and I noticed I've been burping a lot (sorry for TMI).
What screwed me over? diet soda or the thousand island dressing from In n Out?
I also started taking a multivitamin today, not sure if that could be the cause.

Since we're on topic... opinions on diet sodas while on keto? I rarely drink sodas, but today I was just craving it D:

Whatever it is, I've learned my lesson :(

If one of the vitamins was Biotin over 5000 it can give you a sudden feeling of nausea.

    It says Biotin 300mcg.

I did not have trouble with the biotin until I went with the 10000. I cut it back to 5000 and all was fine. The nausea you described just reminded of how the Biotin made me feel. If it is a pill cut it in half. Or just skip it a day and see if it happens. yours is a much smaller amount. Maybe still too much for you. Is there any other vitamins you are taking that would have a hi B vitamin in them?

I honestly do not think any one should be drinking diet soda but it is your choice and many do it. I gave it up years ago. I do not drink any soda but I am still addicted to my coffee and tea. We all have our vices. I hope you feel better tomorrow.

No vitamins, I just take Claritin once a day and singulair at night, also for my allergies.

I would just skip a day or too and see what happens. Then if you can cut the biotin in half to try it. The nausea came on me suddenly and lasted until I got some thing to eat several hours later. Like you I thought for sure I was going to loose it. It took me about three times to figure out it was the biotin. I need it and had to go back and start slowly on it working my way up.

I have those side effects when I have unknown carbs... So my guess would be the dressing, potentially. I also have not had a single diet soda since I started this WOE, but carbonation does a number on me anyway, but I have been craving a diet soda, so I might hesitate now.

I did make homemade lemonade with stevia, and I didn't finish it. It was not good... So my suggestion, only add one questionable thing at a time.

Also, because you ordered the burger but forgot to leave off the sauce, next time scrape it off with your wrapper. If in doubt, leave it out. I don't have this reaction to meds, but yes, process of elimination as @shadesofidaho‌ suggests is a great idea. However, it can take a couple weeks of elimination to figure things out... Just remember only one different thing at a time, so identifying problems is easier.

I go for diet sodas, in the small cans when I can find them. The ones that are around half the size of a normal can. Gives me the carbonation that I enjoy, without O.D.ing on fake sugar.

I had a 20 Diet Cherry D.P. this weekend, and my arms got splotchy (likely a reaction to the dye) and the next day all I could think about was wanting another one. It didn't really affect my eating (stayed way low carb, even), but I was like - yeah, occasional treat, maybe. Daily, for me, no way. LOL
