I feel like I should know this, but can we eat chunky soup? Is that the same as eating and drinking at the same time?

If you're eating it as part of your solid foods, which I assume since your talking chunky vs. creamy, my nutritionist wants me to strain it first so as to not consume the liquid as part of the meal - part of the 30/30 rule.

I got so sick of it after four weeks on full liquids, so I haven't tried it yet but I would assume that it's OK as long as you can tolerate what's in it. For instance, I know I can't eat rice or potatoes without feeling major pushback, so I'd probably take those out or avoid soups with them in it.

That makes sense. I made chicken soup and added extra protein powder and noticed that I felt uncomfortable when I ate it. Thanks!

I also tried making chicken soup with protein powder and it made me puke. Haven't tried it again. Eating and drinking together make me puke so I think that's the culprit.

My NUT asked me to not have soup for a meal. She suggested I have soup for a snack instead, and something more solid for my meals.

I make my own soups so I can increase the meat/beans (protein) and keep the fat and calories down. My nutritionist said since my soups are so high in protein and low in fat and calories and there's more food than broth it was fine. She did say that if I was eating canned or prepackaged soups, she would be telling me not to. So maybe the answer is making your own and upping the protein items rather than adding protein powder?
