Newbie saying hello

Hi there, I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Emma, mid thirties from Ireland. I swam competitively as a child but dropped out mid teens when I started to put weight on. Unsurprisingly I continued to put on weight and avoided appearing in a swimsuit at all costs for years.
This year I made a New Years Resolution to get back in the pool and in February I signed up to a Swim for a Mile Challenge. The challenge swim is 2 weeks away now and I am successfully (if very slowly) swimming the mile distance!
I am loving the swimming but it would be great to be able to chat to other swimmers which is why I'm so delighted to find this group!
