I've been doing so well for the past 8 weeks. Things have been pretty bad financially but I got really creative and managed to stay in the game. Until I opened the fridge this morning and found out that someone had been in my keto stash. My eggs bacon and cream that was supposed to last me the weekend were gone. I literally don't have anything keto friendly to eat. I just broke down- I had just received another regret for a job I really thought I had a chance with. The only thing left to eat is popcorn and I had at it. A whole bowl. With butter. And I'm thinking of joining my family for my rice and beans I prepared for their supper because there s nothing else for me.Totally! How am I going to survive the weekend? Part of me just wants to throw in the towel and go with the carb flow until i get some cash in Monday. But then if I start will I be able to stop. Help me someone before I throw everything away. ..

The popcorn could have been something worse. Of all the carby things to end up with, popcorn's not the worst out there.
And you still have butter. Never underestimate the unsung hero that is butter. Seriously. I have a habit of eating it straight.
Do you have coffee or tea around? Do you have coconut oil? You can make bulletproof coffee with that. If you don't have coconut oil, then just use the butter. Butter coffee or butter tea is quite filling, really.
Check your fridge and freezer, what else do you have? Do you have a weird cut of meat that you've been putting off doing anything with? Pull it out. Do you have cream cheese? Mix the cream cheese with some butter, add whatever flavoring you have around and a little sweetener, and you have yourself some cream cheese clouds to snack on. How about peanut butter? Do you still have any eggs at all? Eggs and cream cheese combine to make awesome crepes/keto pancakes. Even if the foods that you have around aren't ideal, I'd still try to avoid the rice and beans. That's a pretty extreme swing, and you'll likely be more miserable afterward.
If all else fails, you can commit to a couple day fast (or a sort of impromptu fat fast and subsist on butter and whatever other fats you have around). Not eating for a couple of days won't be pleasant, but it won't kill you, either. You do need to calm down about it, though, and convince yourself that it's okay.
Talk to the people you live with and find out what happened and how it's made you feel (and the importance of you remaining compliant). Otherwise, you risk something like this happening again.0 -
Ugh, I would be fuming...not sure who you share a fridge with that could have eaten your food, but if it were me, I'd confront them and suggest they replace those items today...or reimburse you so you can replenish yourself. One setback like popcorn isn't the end of the world, but I'd hate to see all your hard work come to a crashing stall if you had to revert to heavy carbs all weekend.0

Yes between everyone in the house, have a whip round and take a very small amount of money from each and go buy some eggs. That will get you through.0

Can you list what you actually do have in the house? Maybe we can come up with something collaboratively. There are some really creative folks in this forum.0

I'm realizing that even on Keto I'm still crazy good aggressive. The feeling was strong when I read someone ate your food. I got all "they must die!" When it comes to food I have the mentality of "two eyes and a leg for an eye." A sick desire for retribution.
Anyway, I sincerely hope you don't have to go off plan until Monday.0 -
No one messes with my bacon and eggs!! I'm so sorry you have deal with this crap!! Maybe coffee with butter or some veggies you can create if you have any? Mayo or cream cheese? Maybe a good time for a weekend fast. Hope things get better for you.0

Lol. I thought about this but I know there's no money. I'm the main bread winner and in currently unemployed. Anyway found out my hubby made a couple of sandwiches while I was out. He apologised profusely and said he didn't realise that was the last of the bacon.
I do have 3 eggs left so all is not lost. Also some protein powder that's ok tasting in a fix. I got some HWC from a friend. Also got almond meal and flax powder. Oh and about a pound of butter I'd hidden in the freezer. So looks like I won't die a slow carb death after all.
@Dragonwolf I had the rice and beans . I'm trying not to feel too guilty coz that's a one way street to Bingedom for me. I'm shaking it off. Tomorrow is another day.
