Monthly Challenges

Hey guys!

So I just added the "just one June" challenge, since that seemed to have good reception, but I think it'd be nice to come up with various challenges that people would like to see, and I think it's worth a dedicated thread.

We don't have to limit ourselves to one a month, especially if there are more "advanced" challenges (like the Meativore May one). I'd really love to see a beginner one, too, especially in months that have an advanced or specialized challenge.

Right now, though, we could use a pool of ideas. So, if you have a challenge idea (or even some other idea for something like it), post your idea here. Bonus points if you can come up with some clever name ideas for it, but at least provide a a description of the challenge, some general guidelines, and what "level" you think it is (beginner, intermediate, advanced). I'm okay with repeats and overlaps, so if you have an idea that's similar to what has been suggested, feel free to include it and make a note of what's different, or let us know what challenge(s)/event(s) you'd like to see happen more often.

    Water challenge might be good. I know i need to keep up with my water intake and i know a lot of people don't. Maybe 8 cups is a must a day.

    Fruit Fly July - Beginner - No fruit for the month.
    Offal (Awful) August - Intermediate - Two servings (at least) of offal per week.
    Beeftember - Advanced - Only beef or beef products (cheese, cream).
    Stocktober - Beginner - One serving of broth (chicken or beef) per day in place of water.
    Full-on Fast Friday - Intermediate/Advanced - No eating on Fridays for a month.

    Fartless February: a repeat of the zero-carb challenge
    Maintenance May: find your calorie and carb level to maintain your weight for a month
    August August: do something really respectable each day of the month
    Obnoxious October: hang out in the main forums and try to convert everybody to low carb
    No-challenge November: a relaxing challenge-free month

    I'm going to say that's not only advanced, that's Grand Master level.

    Someone else can think of a cutesy month name, but how bout a cooking challenge? Make 1/3/5/7 (each person's choice) new meals per week, with the check ins being each person's food porn for the week along with recommendations to try or avoid whatever recipes they used.

    @JPW1990 ....I love your idea of a cooking challenge. Julia Childs July! @Sajyana ...Just Do It July would be awesome too, I know I need to push myself more in the exercise department and I like the challenges to keep me accountable.

    We did/doing squat challenge so we need a month of BootyFull, AbsTraction and ArmAgeddon :)

    Just Log it June/July: A full month of logging into MFP every day for food or forums OR logging by pictures with weekly check ins consisting of a colleague of all the food you ate that week... I just like food porn.

    0.0 I think I would collapse and die. :) I'm nowhere near anything like that yet.
