Crazy to try to exercise on the train?

I spend an hour on the train to get to work each day. Mostly standing up. Trains can be very crowded so not much room, but I am wondering if anyone has come up with discreet ways to exercise while on the train?

I read that standing burns more calories than sitting :) But I don't know of any exercises you could do. We don't have trains here.

Hi, look up isometric exercises where you can tense up/flex muscles, hold and release. Remember to keep breathing. Depending how much room you have you can stand on one leg, squat, hip rolls (hula hoop), pelvic tilts, triceps kickbacks. Any movement/stretching is good :)

I have a standing cube at work. I can tell you that calorie difference is minor. It is really good for posture and attentiveness.
