I have reached my goal of 129 lbs.

MFP has been so helpful to me. All of you guys have been such an inspiration and this site has kept me accountable.

Now on to staying at goal weight and maybe a lb or two below.

I plan to continue to log and do my 10,000 steps per day.

Congratulations Vicky! You may want to set yourself a goal range as you weight will fluctuate. A 3 pound range has worked for me.

Thanks everyone. I do need a lb or two for fluctuations. Have so much more energy now.

Keep up the good progress all.

That's what we are here for :). We have the quotes thread, interesting reading, etc. all kinds of things to do besides eating. B)

Thanks DreamOn. I just read somewhere that we should not rely on motivation to stay at our goal weight or to lose weight for that matter.

It should be like brushing our teeth, taking a bath or whatever. We need to do it because it is good for our health and wellbeing.

I am trying to start looking at it that way.

Lost a lb from goal. My eating has been good considering my 89 year old dad has been in and out of the hospital 4 times in the last 8 weeks. Having mini strokes and congestive heart failure.

So sad to see him decline.

The hospital cafe has a great salad bar and So far I have not succumbed to just totally throwing in the towel in the eating dept.

I have also got in my 10,000 steps each day by pacing the hall in front of dads door while he was sleeping.

Vicky, great attitude, keep it up.
The steps and good eating will help with the stress too.

So sorry to hear about your dad, I am sure you both have some great memories from those 89 years. Share those while you still can.

Vicky, you have a great plan. Sending you a warm hug. There is nothing we can say to make coping with family illness easier, but do know he is treasuring the the time you are giving him.

I wish that were the case Sharon. But since he is feeling some better and his mini strokes are affecting his mind, he is being very difficult and says he is going home. Which is impossible because he cannot walk. The plan is for him to go into a nursing facility for rehab. And I think we are going to have a very difficult time when we do take him.

We told him that we were trying to do what was best for him
And take good care of him. And he says "just what have you done"? I love him dearly but he is not making this any easier for him or us.

Just keep us all in your prayers that we can have the patience we need to do the right thing.
