    Well happy Day FOUR, gang!

I'm just rolling along, like yesterday, letting habit take control. Nancy, I thank you again for all these ten day minis. Added up, they've created a groove, and now overeating, reaching for sweets, skipping my exercise, all of my bad habits are less habitual than my good habits.

Tomorrow I start PT for my back. Hoping this will help. I feel pretty good as long as I'm packed in ice or in the water, but out of water or out of ice, the nerve pain is still pretty brutal.

Regardless, I'm thinking I need a boot campy type jump start to make that scale move down. I am really, really determined to make my end of July weigh in a good one, and I'm shooting for 379 as my "magic number." By the end of August, 359, and by mid-September, 350.

This morning I learned that the wife of my first love (Joe) in high school died of cancer in April. She was only 49; they had been married for 22 years and have two children, 20 and 16. She was so healthy--a daily swimmer, competitive equestrian, soccer coach, active in the community, ran a thriving optometry business, earned her Phd a few years ago, on top of an MBA. Such a good, productive life cut short so early!!!

So I'm lying in bed reading about this on facebook and feeling so sad for Joe and thinking, "What the F??? Karen, do NOT waste any more time, PLEASE. Get out of bed, get your exercise, get your food straight. You have abused your body for years, and yet you are still alive. Make the most of it."

There's my message to you all for day four---don't waste it! Be grateful that you get to live today.

    xxoo

Well, I logged everything yesterday. Barely came in under calories but that's ok.....I logged! Everything! All day!! I count that as a win. Not much going on here. It's so quiet with Cody gone to the Academy. I'm so proud of him for sticking it out. I know the physical part isn't easy on him but I'm hoping this gets him more active overall. Of course, that's the pot calling the kettle black since I'm no where near as active as I need to be. But I'll get there. One thing at a time. This evening I have a Spa Party to go to. Free facials, manicures, pedicures......I can't wait! lol Other than that, it's a quiet, lazy day. I need to check the heat index outside. If it's not too bad I might take Daisy on a walk around the block. She's like that. Taa taa for now. Check in again later.

I'm so tired of lawyers and logistics and numbers and problem projects, I can't stand it.

My grandmother's 90th birthday is Saturday, 4 hours away, and I simply don't know if I can get everything together to go!

Everything has deadlines, and they all overlap. I was telling someone today that it's a lot like taking a year's worth of events and cramming it all into one week/one month. Something's gotta give and I'm still praying that it's not my sanity!

Trying to compartmentalize as best I can. Currently decompressing briefly with my favorite MFP folks! (hugs)

Whew, ended Day Four with a weird but lovely porch dinner. Lovely because someone else cooked and some great friends were here. Weird because one couple we haven't seen in months were just awkward and stiff... you know that strange feeling you get when you've lost touch with someone and you really didn't miss them that much because you don't really have anything in common? Yeah, that kind of awkward.

I did okay on my challenge goals, but "no sugar" is not addressing my eating too many calories. whoops.

I discovered yesterday that TWO medjool dates have 140 calories in them. I ate TWELVE. That's 1680 calories. aaarrgghhhh! plus I stuffed them with almonds. Mindless snacking is my ruination.

Maybe tomorrow I'll get it together.

Hope your spa night was fun, Dee. Carly, sounds like something's gotta give.

    If 2 is 140, 4 is 280, 6 is 420, so 12 is 840...not 1680... So it's not quite that bad.

Thanks, Carly. LOL--I'm actually good at math unless it involves calorie counting!!!

You just counted servings, forgetting your serving was 2 and not one...so doubled. :) Very easy mistake to make!
