Summer Weight loss challenge

Summer is quickly ticking away. Record your starting weight (Week of 7/10-7/16 depending on the day you weigh in and use this thread to track your weight. I am not creating a spreadsheet this time around, the logistics are too tough and it doesn't work for people half the time. This will be an 8 week challenge.

You can use the format below to track your weekly weigh ins and feel free to post any struggles or victories you have along the way!

    I am hoping to finally hit the elusive 150's by the end of the summer. It is going to be tough with BBQs, vacation, and summer shenanigans but I am determined to stay on track!

    Had a good start to the year but have really lost track this summer and put it all back on, time to get serious and battle the bulge!

    I haven't lost any weight in the past month, so I'm really buckling down now. I'm trying to make exercise more of a priority, training for a 5K, and being less flexible with my calorie intake. @mamarundrc We're right there together! We can do this!!!

    Well, I've bounced back down to where I was 3 weeks ago, so let's hope for no more bouncing! This week was okay... A little better with the exercise, but I've still got room to improve!!! Great job everyone!

    Back from vacation, no weigh in for me on 7/17. I am focusing on getting back on track this week and will weigh in and see if I did any damage then!

    How is everyone doing this week? Staying on track? What struggles are you having?

    For me the biggest struggle is exercise. It is 90 degrees out and oppressive with the humidity. I was supposed to do a group workout in the park yesterday but no-one showed (probably the heat). Instead of working out I did a little work in the garden but had to call it quits after 10 minutes

    Hopefully i will get in something tonight. It is a little less obnoxiously hot out there. The humidity is supposed to break tonight so the rest of the week shouldn't be too bad!

    I've picked a fine time of year to start training for a 5K! It's been mid 90's here with high humidity. I've been doing my best to get out every day.

    I was feeling good about myself and bought some Terra chips, convincing myself in the grocery store that I could stop at one serving. I did measure out one serving, logged it, ate it, went back for a second serving, and then back again for the whole bag. :( I still have little self control when it comes to some foods.

    I'm just (re)starting tracking, so my starting weight is from 7/17. Thanks for setting this up. I've found, in the past, that knowing I "have" to post my weight each week actually helps me stay on course. :smile:

    Terra Chips are so delicious! I won't by big bags of them for that exact reason. I try to find my indulgent hard to resist foods in small bags so I don't have to worry about if I can't exert my will power when I want to.

    Managed a hot and sweaty run tonight. 5.7 slow miles done. I have a 5 mile OCR on Saturday. Should be interesting! Wish me luck!

    While I'm a bit sad that I didn't lose anything, I'm happy I didn't gain. Started adding more strength/core work this past week, so we'll see how this coming week goes.

    Never too late! Join right in. Use this week as your starting weight for the challenge and when setting your goal keep in mind that there is only 6 weeks remaining. Welcome!

    .... Sigh.... Yep. Now the good news is that I did pretty awesome with exercise. I got out to walk or run every day!

    The bad news is that there was some binge eating a few days this week. I was over my calories every day, and a few days I just gave up on tracking at a certain point because I was embarrassed.

    This week's goals: Keep up with the exercise! Yay! After the 4 peaches and 1 apple in my refrigerator are gone... no more fruit this week, and no eating between meals.

    Splurged last weekend food-wise, then injured myself on Monday so I couldn't workout for a couple days. I had gone back up to this challenge's starting weight, so I'm happy to start losing again.
