Anyone ever use plexus drink mix in addition to low carb? I have a friend who sent me a week's supply (after much resistance) and I promised to try it starting tomorrow. Supposed to have three carbs a pkt. I'm an eternal skeptic but wondering what others have experienced if anything?

If I may ask, what is it about this new stuff your friend says is so great?
What is it supposed to do to help weight loss?
And as you can tell, I have not heard of it.0 -
I'm not familiar with it.0

It's supposed to fill you up. I tried for a long time to get info on it I but the company is very secretive and the reps don't really seem to know (I kept getting referred further up the chain, and they just said "it works but I don't know how".) I assume it's some kind of filling fiber but it's expensive so I wasn't willing to pay a few hundred bucks a month for that. I really have no clue. Figured I'd try it for a few days just for her sake. I'm not really ever hungry on low carb now as it is tho. But at least I can tell her I tried it. IDK0

She lost quite a bit of weight, actually and thus is always talking about it. I'm kinda worried it's got something detrimental in it tho, so was hoping someone here was familiar with it.0 -
Yeah, so I was reading more online. I just don't think I can even risk taking it. I'm just going to skip it. It looks like a pyramid scam and they say Amazon took it off their website? And it can make you test positive for drugs. Hmmmm! Nah.0

sounds dodgy and not worth the risk to your body.0

Diet and exercise works
It isn't risky

I must be the worst friend in the world, but every now and then, a friend gives me "helpful" advice or stuff to try. I always say thank you and then throw out the wonder potions :-) In the end, she will never know whether you took it; and if she asks, you can say you tried one and it made you feel sick ;-) Do what's right for you :-)0

This is a wise choice. Magic potions aren't the key to success.0 -
I haven't tried that particular one. I have tried the shakes as a protein routine for my breakfast. I tried Advocare (online), and then Nature's Best Zero Carb Isopure Whey Protein from GNC. I didn't lose much using either one and my energy levels weren't great. Not a magic weight loss success in my journey. Additionally, I found that the taste and consistency, no matter how blended are - were -meh. Second, is the cost and sustainability to keep going is a bit too much and third, probably the most important issue for me was that there are sugars and other additives that were just not friendly to my GI tract. I was really gassy and bloated rather than truly satisfied and energetic. For me, they did not "fill me up" or help with the satiety at all. Just my personal experience with those two.
Since I started LCHF in March, I switched to 2 eggs and 1-2 bacon for breakfast and I prepare real foods (chicken, steaks, fish) for lunch and dinner. I find eggs and bacon or sausage to be much more satisfying and keeps me longer in the morning until lunch without the urge to snack. I feel clearer mentally and feel physically stronger. Plus, the cost is lower and I can use the eggs and bacon in other food preparation. A week supply isn't going to do much either way, I'm always open to experimentation and finding what works, what doesn't for me. If you are curious and your friend swears by it, Heck, give it a shot. (If I were to do it over, I would have skipped it) Live and learn.. Record your satiety, your energy levels. Worst case, you lost a week or two. Just avoid signing up for anything via email, a few of these magic proteins are really a pyramid scheme and you'll never get rid of the emails.0 -
Plexus Slim does not work. Co-worker used to sell it and at a moment of weakness took some free stuff home one night. It.... did nothing but taste sort of bad and gave me weird headaches. I didn't lose a single pound.
Nope, give me my eggs and bacon and real food!0 -
Agree. Once I saw it can make you test positive for drugs that kinda did me in. I don't think I want to risk it for even five days.0

I have a cousin who sold it. For some people they feel the buzz, and say they feel better (which I'm not trying to deny they do) But it truly is a pyramid scheme type thing if you sell I make money and more when more people sell kind of thing. Not many sellers know what it is, they just know if they sign people up they can make money. I've also hear this about Advocare, Le-vel Thrive, etc etc... but my cousin told me about the Plexus stuff.

If someone wants me to try something but can't tell me what it does or what the ingredients are, I'd tell them to get bent. No way. Sounds like MLM and she's trying to get her plexus for free or make money off of you.0

I would tell your friend you don't need any special drinks to control your appetite. Bacon and butter is actually working quite well for you and if she would like to try it, you could tell her more about it. Lol
I have issues with a lot of these companies. I once had a lady that sold advocare try to sell me their stuff for carb control or whatever it is because it can "cure diabetes" when she found out my daughter is TYPE 1! I had to explain to her over and over again there is absolutely no cure for T1D and no way to "improve" it or make it not be "as bad", no matter what it did for the mystery person she learned about in class. Lol
I think she needs to go to a different class!0 -
My boss's wife just started selling this stuff, and honestly, after looking it up, assuming you mean the "Plexus Pink Drink" thing, there is no way in heck I'm putting all these chemicals and stuff into my body. When I told her just before she stared on this bandwagon that I keep my weight and cholesterol, etc., under control BY EATING TONS OF FAT AND DROPPING THE CARBS, she looked at my like I was speaking Greek. I repeated it for her, and then she proceeded to sign up for this stuff a few weeks after. She's at a healthy weight but can't seem to accept it. The results are supposed to emulate those we already get from this WOE, but I'm skeptical...
That Garcinia stuff is the one all the celebrities are going on about these days. They have one version that has a stimulant in it to "get you going" but it causes some people to get shaky. I will say this, though. It did help my boss quit his 25 year Diet Coke habit...

Yeah. I still have the five packs sitting on my shelf. I'm dreading her asking how I liked them. Guess I should mail them back.0
