Cold Clay

"You grab a piece of clay (Imagine that is a metaphor of your body). For 20, 30, 40 years it's been sitting on the shelf. Just cold not moving, lethargic, no energy, no motion at all. You put it on the wheel, grab some water and try to move it. It's not moving man, it's not moving at all. But as you keep putting your hands on it you start heating it up, heating it up, and heating it up, (that's your body going to the gym week after week, week after week, week after week). And then all of a sudden it hits a plateau. BOOM! It starts moving. All of a sudden you can start creating something. But before you couldn't. Once you have created what you want you let dry and cool out and then BAM! It's locked. It's not going anywhere. What I'm trying to say is that the transformation portion is 10x, 100x harder than being in shape and staying in shape. Maintaining an in shape state is simple guys. It's the transforming that is so hard." - Greg Plitt

Just a small motivation to keep us going. Remember it's a marathon not a sprint. Don't be discouraged when there's no results the first or second week. Slowly we will be warming up our bodies and before we know it we will start seeing little bits of progress here and there. Best way to see results is to track them. Take a weekly picture and write your BF%, Waist to Hip ratio, and weight (even do circumference and skin folds if you want) and write it on the back of the picture. May take away until you see results but looking back you can compare where you are to where you started and realize your hard work is paying off.

Great post! Like you said, it's a marathon. We gotta' trust the process. Results WILL come, but it takes time!

    Here's an interesting stat:

"According to survey results, 60% of people that start a diet plan never make it past 4 weeks.

What makes this stat so important? For visible results, most people need to be on a consistent diet and fitness plan for a minimum of 8 to 12 weeks. So it’s no wonder why so many people start with the right intent and are even doing what needs to be done, but quit prematurely."

Love this. Took two weeks for me to see anything happen. It seems to be happening now. Also love that this is the hard part and one day, this lifestyle will have become habit and easy to maintain.
