August Challenge - Me vs. The Binge

Welcome!!
Well this challenge is a challenge with yourself. The challenge is for you to win in the fight against "The Binge". Many of us struggle with binging and a few of us have found that making "The Binge" a person has helped us fight the emotions or urge to binge.
So the objective of the challenge is to have more days for you (Me) than the "The Binge".
When you have a day you do not succumb to binge urges or binge give yourself (ME) a point. When you give in to the urge to binge you give 'The Binge" a point. No beating yourself up about it because tomorrow is another day. Honesty with yourself is crucial for it to help you and others.
So we keep score with ourselves the whole month. We encourage each other along the way. Please feel free to share your ups, downs, successes, struggles, etc. You will find you are not alone. See below for format. Feel free to use it or use your own format. This Challenge keeps you mindful of binging and the daily support and accountability helps also.
Check in often. The more you check and share the better you will do for the month. So are you in? You are stronger than “The Binge.” One day at a time.
Current month 2015:
Me (or you can use your user name or real name) - 0
The Binge - 0
***** ATTENTION *****
This request is not meant to offend anyone. I am requesting that people please refrain from mentioning specific foods on this particular binge thread. This is what is used in most therapy groups for BED. When I was in BED therapy in 2011 we were not allowed to mention specific foods. It could lead others to think about foods that they otherwise would not think of and can trigger binges for others. Hope this makes sense.
Again this request is not meant to offend. It is requested as a means of support and consideration for others using this thread. Please note this request is for this thread only and not for other threads within the BE Support Group.
Thanks in advance for your cooperation.
Sincerely,
Molly

going to spend a couple of days in the stepfather's house, hope I'll won't binge, last time we went, it was so boring that I spend two days bingeing... plus there will be this time my stepmother whom we have much problem and tend to argue.... really hope this tense situation will not make me too stressed and bingeing ...0 -
Hi friends! I know I've been MIA for the last week. I had what might have been a binge on Sunday the 26th and have been kinda gobsmacked by it sense....mainly because I am still not sure if it is actually a binge or not. It's not like it was before, but it was definitely more food than I needed or planned. So since I can't define it...it feels more genuine to call it a binge instead of continuing a streak that didn't feel totally genuine.
The good news is that I am getting to the point that I am not sure...and before, it was always a full fledge fall down binge. So, I am gonna focus on that. I am also struggling with maintenance. I realize I find comfort in being in the weight loss phase, so I am having a hard time truly moving into maintenance and stopping losing weight.

I am having trouble defining my binges or almost binges now too. You're right - I think that's a good thing too. I decided that high-calorie overeating (that is not quite binging) will still be logged as binging for me for the same reason you mentioned. And good luck staying healthy with maintenance

But it wasn't nearly as bad as it could have been, so today was kind of a success0 -
I lost control for a while today but was able to recognize it and I'm fighting it. I've buried myself in my bedroom tonight so I can have the upper hand. Folding laundry sucks but I'll appreciate it on both fronts tomorrow.

I was like you today @Pudding1980 - I ate more than usual but it was planned and I stopped without bingeing. I definitely felt the urge to binge and knew I had some junk food available but I resisted and then fell asleep (carb coma?). When I woke up, I was very full and had no desire to eat and did my exercise for the day!!!0 -
