I like these. Nice and short with a purpose. Although the balance row will be a challenge!0
-
Hey Chris, some of my favorites. Except for the part about acting like a flamingo, these are some of my go-to regulars. Thanks!
Paula0 -
Oh my, looks like that balance row is everybody's favorite.
Shelley0 -
Since the balance thing is a challenge, probably means we need to do it.
Have been having a few sleepless nights, but last night I slept like a log! Feeling good!
Off to the gym in a bit to do week 2, run 1 of my Couch2K.
Have a great Monday everyone!0 -
Clara that is awesome! I am in your corner. And already did the challenge, without to much of a wobble! OK, I wobbled. PS, Coopers GPS arrived during lunch. Should have it up and running by tomorrow.
Shelley0 -
Puppy Cooper we will know where you are always!!! So glad the GPS came.
Have fun Clara. We hit the gym tonight, too. As soon as the kids get home. The balance business is one of our exercises tonight! bwahahah!
There were a few youtube examples of holding something...balance ball...counter...wall...with one hand and just doing a one-arm row then switching. If that keeps you from falling over and surfing the carpet, you should do it!I personally put a finger on the back of a chair when I need to. That helps me a whole lot!
Walked this morning then took DH to doc's appt. We'll be doing the gym shortly.
Have a great rest of Monday and a terrific Tuesday!
Chris0 -
No gym...DDD got swamped with house and school starting. Maybe tomorrow. Depends on our trainer.
Managed 6.82 miles for 13,304 steps.
Got my blood drawn today...need to go get some shots...Egads!!
Hope you all have a great evening!
Chris0 -
No workout on Monday. Was at the hospital from 8:30 am to 8:30 pm as a friend had a procedure. She's fine and went home yesterday. Everything now is day surgery...it's amazing to me that you can have a 4 hour surgery and go home the same day!
I wished I had my Fitbit yesterday. We spent a lot of time walking around the hospital. Hopefully it will be delivered today.
On the agenda toda...the challenge and tennis practice.
Shelley - great to hear you got the GPS!
Clara - great job with the Couch 2K.
Chris - can't wait to start working on those 10k steps.
Paula - flamingo...lol
Have a great Tuesday!
Kathy0 -
Sounds like your plans got changed a bit Chris and Kathy. Kathy I also am amazed how quickly they want to push you out the door after surgery. I hope they do not do that to women having babies. To many worthless men who will not help in my book. But then I have a good one, and he drove me nuts!
Still trying to work out the bugs with Coppers collar. Just need to test it out. With him of course next to me. Not running loose!
Shelley0 -
Plans got changed again today. DDD needed help this afternoon. Spent 4 1/2 hours in her classroom. Funny...it's first grade and I'm fried. They did turn off the air conditioner at 3:00. We were there until 5:50...gets warm in those rooms!
DH came home the very next day after his hip-fix surgery. I thought that was quick! I'll have to ask DDD's two friends when they came home. They both have new babies.
I'm going to walk tomorrow then take DH to an appointment then hit the gym with DDD and our trainer.
Now I must read!!
Back tomorrow!
Chris0 -
Yep Chris, they just toss them out on their ears. They need those beds! I better not get started.
My plans are messed up this week also. Last night went over to our groomers New space. I say space because nothing was in there. Tonight we went and assembled two large bathing sinks. And discussed the plumbing. What she needed to purchase. I have been taking my boys to her since Joey was a puppy. I lent her $2500 so she could get her business loan. Now if she had that kind of money she would not have needed a loan to start up her own grooming business! Right?
Anyway we are helping her get set up to open by Friday. Other people are helping put the kennels together etc. She is a great gal. And I will not take my boys to a stranger. She also worked out with me for years and takes care of my kitty when we are gone. But it made for another late night.
Off to find my pillow,
Shelley0 -
Finally, I got my Fitbit.
Set it up last night and will start using it today. I completed the challenge yesterday as well as 75 minutes tennis practice. Up early headed to the office today and will walk at lunch to get in some steps. Can I hit 10k today? We will see. Zumba after work.
Have a great Wednesday!
Kathy0 -
I hope you like your fitbit. Let me know how you do.0
-
Ok, so I have been logging my meals for a couple of days again. Wow have I been bad. I must log, I must log, I must log! Tonight I will be at my friends shop late again. Back to working out soon. I think I will go do some walking around the court house.0
-
I had to work late today because I'm going on vacation next week. I really didn't get a chance to go to the park. But despite that I got in 5,814 steps - 2.39 miles. I have a way to go to catch you Chris.
Hopefully, after work tomorrow I can get a good walk in.
Goodnight,
Kathy0 -
Shelley - pretty pink flower! Yes, walking around the court house is good...logging is good...
Kathy I hope you were able to get your evening walk in. I hope you find the Fitbit fun!
Had two hard food days. Behaving myself today. Can't believe the damage I did! You'd think I'd learn.
Yesterday I helped DDD in her classroom. I had 2.85 miles for 6,214 steps.
Today I walked w/Bean for a bit...brought him home and finished up by myself. DDD and I met w/our trainer this evening for an hour. It was a killer workout. I managed 7.89 miles for 15,582 steps.
Got to go find my pillow now...
Chris0 -
Kathy sounds like you found a new favorite toy!
Chris will be hard to catch, she is retired!
Chris if we learned we would not have met here! That pink flower is a rose. I do not usually plant tea roses, but I had a weak moment.
I now can track Coop' s activity during the day. Or lack of it. I love tracking him.
Night all.0 -
Beautiful pink rose...love it!0

Sorry for absence. Board meeting Monday, Support group Tuesday, worked late Wednesday, sneaking in before work Thursday just to say "Hi"! Oh, my TRX came!! Lovve ittt!!
Paula0 -
Thanks Kathy!
Paula you go with your TRX! Let me know how much you really use it and how easy it is to go from one exercise to another. Chris feel free to jump in with your know how also.
Shelley0 -
Day 2 of getting use to the Fitbit. I do find myself taking the long way to the ladies room at work, Getting up more often to walk down the aisles of the office and I walked at lunch today for 30 minutes. Couldn't walk after work and tennis practice canceled because of storms. I got in 8,428 steps for 3.46 miles.
Going to the Falcons preseason game with Ron tomorrow...that should be a lot of walking. We usually go early and walk around Centennial park to take in the sights.
Paula - I had to google TRX...not familiar with it...good luck.
Goodnight ladies
Kathy0 -
Kathy great goings today!! those steps add up! Hope you have fun at your Falcon's game with Ron tomorrow.
Love the TRX! Some things are easy and you are so sore the next day and some things are really hard and you are really sore the next day!! Think about Mountain Climbers with your feet off the ground in stir ups! Yeah...a little hard! Or a downward dog with your feet in stir ups! Yeah...that one's hard too! Squats are great and pull ups are good too!! It's fun!
Walked early then took Bean to the park for a puppy-romp! He tinkled on everything! Sniffed and smelled it first then wet it! Crazy pup!
I managed 7.61 miles for 14,737 steps. It was a beautiful day today!
Took DH to Kaiser for some exrays. Now I'm going to read!
Friday should be a fun-filled day!
Chris

It was a beautiful morning. Bean and I did a couple of miles together then I dropped him off w/DH and continued by myself. Later I got on the recumbent bike. Tomorrow is supposed to get up to 107!! We'll see...
DDD and I will be hitting the gym tomorrow morning. I'm still sore from what our trainer put us through on Wednesday...tomorrow might just hurt!!
I managed 6.58 miles for 12,697 steps and 12.75 miles on the recumbent. My food is in line. It was a good Friday!
Hope you are all doing great!
Chris0 -
Sounds like you guys are both getting in your steps. It sure was hot here also.
Chris I sure hope it does not get that hot there. How is your DH doing with the recovery?
Boys all got groomed today. I removed Timmys stitches last night. Kitty got his blood checked again. Still to high. Mowed the back yard. Rocky, with a little help from me, got the area around the gazebo ready for concrete. Doing half at a time. Sliding the gazebo on PVC as needed. Painted a little more of the patio also. Rocky had to hold a light for me to finish. Pesky little night time. Picked up another 24 bags on concrete. Sure hope we have enough. Going to pour early.
Shelley0 -
Shelley, You should sponsor a concrete weight lifting challenge. Oh my back aches just thinking about it. Get the dragon to swoop down and carry them for you!
Chris, You have me beat hands down. My TRX helps me keep balanced doing squats and lunges, makes it easier but hurts more later (so I'm assuming its a better workout). But now you make me feel like a wimp.
My husband was a (record-holder) two-miler in high school and they trained on TRX back then, running in place, leaning away from the wall. (Can you say mid-1960's!)
It's Friday! Curls, hammers, rows & extensions done. No flamingos... can't hold the TRX to balance the flamingo when there are weights in my hands. :noway:
I just enrolled at Hogwarts (a Kro definitely belongs in the Ravenclaw house). Anybody interested in hearing how it goes?
:flowerforyou:
Paula0 -
I am Paula. Sounds interesting.
Shelley0 -
Paula - I'm so uncoordinated when it comes to the TRX...I would surely end up on my head if DDD and our trainer weren't there to guide my unwieldy body!! We laugh a lot! It does make lunges easier for me though. I'm always falling over without something to hang on to!!
I want a dragon to sit in my front yard and watch the little children walk to school! He would be a cool dragon and grin at the kids as they pass.
Yes tell us about your Hogwarts adventure.
Going to the gym w/DDD this morning.
Must find my shoes...
Chris0 -
Paula you should take a movie of you at the gym. Laughter is good for the soul. Muahaha. The Dragon was way cool. There was Humpty Dumpty also. And lots of the usual ones in beautiful colors. We just stood in our yard watching them float by.
Ok, the count is in for the large section we poured. 23 bags of concrete and one of Portland. It was much easier using the mixer. Must let it cure for a few days. Then move the gazebo unto it and repeat! I will see how bad my back feels tomorrow.Cleaned the kitchen today. It was a productive day.
Shelley0 -
We spent 45 minutes at the gym, and what was already sore will be even more sore tomorrow!! Then I got on the recumbent bike.
Couldn't walk today. The smoke from one of our many California fires was just too much. The sky was grey and nasty. There was no way I could have walked and survived!
So I offered to help the kids in their library. Their floors are finished and beautiful. All the remodeling is done, but the house is a jumbled mess. We spent three hours on her books and there are still more in the garage!! She takes after her mom and dad when it comes to books!
I only have 1.51 miles for 3,301 steps!!! I did get 12.00 miles done on the recumbent though. We will walk outside tomorrow morning if the sky is clear...if not we'll hit the gym and the treadmills.
My food is right on and my weight was down this morning!! I'm happy!
I hope you all have a great Sunday!
Chris0 -
Yay, Chris and Shelley! Sore is good. You both sound like winners this weekend. Chris/down is really good!!
Smoke's bad here too but I had an appointment for Sonrisas, a small non-profit that helps people who can't afford dentists. I dressed as a Minion at our Farmer's Market booth and we gave away toothbrushes with Disney themes and kids brushed a large alligator puppet's teeth (which are real dentures). The kids loved it and Moms took pictures. Such smiles! They'll have good memories. You'd be surprised how many people don't know about dental health, can't afford fillings later, and lose teeth. I love encouraging the young - it'll improve their quality of life for years.
It made me sad but time constraints forced me to drop out of Hogwarts. There were many fun challenges: food tracking, exercise, HP questions, and more; and each house made points for completions. I would have held them back or gotten expelled for missing classes. Really good motivation, but I'm glad we're different.
