Hi, I'm new here and have had type 2 for 18 years. Presently using an insulin pump which I love. My fasting sugar is 75! I'm 51 years old and have about 25 pounds to take off. My sugars had been running high, but when eating proper meals can run normal!

Holding steady at 125. Could be better, but I'm happy it isn't higher.

I'm told it will get better with more weight loss and the same diet effort.

Sadly I know this from experience! I know I just gotta keep at it. I was down about 45 pounds from where I am now and had great FBS without medicine. Gained back a bunch after a work layoff last fall. Now I've got my head back in the game. Thanks for the continued encouragement!

I know that sounds high, but I am coming down from 267's and such...so I was excited to see it this morning. Last night at 11:30 pm it was 120...also exciting to see. I followed the less than 45 carbs per meal , I just learned about yesterday. I seem to be higher in the mornings.....from reading posts it might be Dawn Phenomena?

I'm 109 this am. Good for you, time2lose, for taking control of your health. You'll figure out what works for you to get your fasting sugar within the normal range.

267 down to 135 is an amazing improvement! Just stay the course and keep tracking. I would guess unless your macro's are way out of wack you will see that dawn number come down more over time.

I started 3 weeks ago at 219, then I averaged 150 for a week or so, and then I dropped into the 120's for a week and now I read 104 today so the consistent carb count has finally started working for me. It takes time to turn the ship around and at 135 you are doing way less damage to yourself than at 267. Awesome work!

Thank you, Nursebnrn & Mrron2u. I was reading some posts here yesterday, where someone had said carbs should keep to 44 or under and snacks at 15. I never knew that, it was so helpful. I plan on incorporating that daily . That along with finally finding a metformin that works with me and not against me is helping.
