HealthyMe Oh my gosh I so hear you! I had to send my son (and granddaughter) back to Netherlands on Thursday and I still can't pick up his sandals from the living room floor because it will mean I have to admit he is gone. I had to leave him at Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa in 1998 (we lived in NY at the time) and I though I would never be the same again. It is never easy to admit that we have done our jobs as parents and prepared our children to leave us. My heart is heavy so I know how you feel. In the end though, it is best for them, or so I keep telling myself :laugh:. Hang in there!

Thank you, especially zichab. My son has called every day because he joined ROTC and has had so many questions! So, I've spoken to him several times and glad he is comfortable reaching out to me (and his dad). I figure the best thing I can do is keep walking and eating right so he sees me taking care of myself.0

I'm hopping in late here - but I want to join up! Woo! I am using the elliptical right now since we have a wildfire about an hour east of us, and the smoke is palpable in the air. I don't want to subject my lungs to that! So the elliptical it is. I haven't got out much this month since I quit my job in search of a new one, but when I was working as a caregiver, I was averaging five miles in an 8 hour shift. My poor feet, haha.
As of yesterday, I'm picking up the Beginner's 4-Week Walking Plan showcased on the blog (to either meet or surpass the daily goals) along with the 28 Day Squat Challenge. That's 10 days, so maybe 25 miles?
8.22: 3.0 mi; 3.0/25 mi in 45 min
8.23: 1.8 mi; 4.8/25 in 30 min
Planning on going for a walk this evening as well =D
