Another week down... how did you do? Time to celebrate the good stuff and acknowledge the not so good stuff.

This taking it slow ain't working for me.. I'm up 10 pounds since I left on my vacation! 10 pounds! So I'm going full bootcamp mode starting Monday, including getting my sleeping schedule back to normal. I'm going to the gym this evening to play a little basketball and then tomorrow, I'm firing up Daily Burn and gonna work up a good sweat. I want to start running again but I think I'll put that off for a couple weeks until I get back into the groove with the daily workouts. I always find my first run back after a break really does a number on my hammy's and they are real sore for a few days, sometimes where it's difficult to walk for a couple days afterwards. But I do like running once I get back into it so it's worth it.
I do have a bit of a NSV... my shoulder seems to be a bit less sore now. This past week, I got a couple items around the house finally taking care of a couple lingering things around the house so I'm thinking maybe, just maybe, it might partially be stressed based. I read a book a long time ago that linked stress to back pain, which I was suffering at the time. Evidently the brain, in an effort to distract you from the real cause of worry, will somehow restrict oxygen to parts of your body, naming the back, to cause discomfort there. Viola... mission accomplished and now you are worried about back pain. I thought it was all hokey but I followed the author's (who was an actual back doctor) recommendations and I haven't had back pain since. I tried to remember what I did but focusing on my shoulder but nothing ever happened, but it could be that I don't remember all of it so maybe I need to go find that book again. It certainly wouldn't hurt.

Hi guys! Sorry so late to the party this week. I had a super busy weekend with a motorcycle ride, a wedding reception, and moving kids into college apartments. Then yesterday I was really tired, but had a really busy day to keep up with. I went home and pretty much crashed last night. I'm in another challenge this week too Debbie and I've not done nearly as well so far this week as last - I'm feeling a little run-down the last couple of days - I need my energy back!
That flame-thrower roaster-thingy sounds awesome! I'd love to do that It sounds like you guys are getting on track anyways. Scott - I saw from the MFP status updates that you are down a bit this week so far! So that's good news. You really must be hitting it hard as stated. I'm happy to hear that your shoulder is feeling somewhat recovered too. Perhaps you really just needed a break!
I was the same this week - so zero lbs lost - but also zero lbs gained. I was actually up one pound earlier in the week, so I'll take that as a victory! Lol! So far this week, I'm down .8 - so we'll see if I can maintain that or improve on it by Sunday. I haven't been doing as good on the exercise the past few days, but I plan to get back to it today. I was supposed to have CrossFit tonight - where my next new exercise was to have been jumping on boxes like Scott did during his travels - but I had a previously scheduled appointment I had forgotten about, so now I'll be trying out the boxes on Thursday. I'll let you know how it goes - I hope I don't freeze up!0 -
Hopefully you were able to recharge this week Kristine. Yeah I had a nice drop on the scale the day after playing about 90 minutes of basketball. Unfortunately, I've been seeing the number creep back up. I actually went for a short run this week and didn't feel too bad afterwards so hopefully I can go for another one soon. My shoulder feels really good on some days and kinda achy on others so at least I'm experiencing good days again.
Zero is good at this stage in the game, since you are getting closer and closer to your goal! How did you do with those boxes?? Mind over matter or as I remember Jen saying "Get your brain out of your body's way" or something like that.
I think something in my brain has put a roadblock up for the rest of us and has really undercut my willpower. Last night was movie night in the community I live in and I found myself indulging with a candy bars and even a Coke Zero. I gave up cokes a couple years ago and I couldn't stomach them after a while. All of a sudden, I'm kinda craving them again??? That's pretty weird so I really need to crack down on my diet.0 -
I was in another challenge last week and won so I got the exercise in. My weight is creeping up so I need to start tracking that so I can be accountable about the food.
Yesterday got a scare my son had a seizure at work. so thet rushed him to the hospital was there until 10. He got to come home. Now waiting to see if the doctor can get him in so they can get a MRI scheduled to see if they can find a reason why. They did a CAT scan but it was normal. It could be cause by stress. So stayed home today.0 -
Congrats about winning your challenge but sorry to hear about your son. Hopefully the MRI will shed some much needed light into what's going on.0
