Weight loss stalling?

I just wanted to post some encouragement to folks.
I haven't lost weight for 6 weeks. Prior to this I had reliably lost 2lbs a week for weeks on end (except the week of my TOM where I reliably lost zero). Well... let me tell you I was starting to get pretty frustrated. I was starting to doubt if I would ever get to my goal. EVerything had seemed so effortless this time. Like it was a godsend, the answer to my most offered prayer.
But after six weeks, I was loosing hope. I kept reading about "stalling", that after a big loss it was good to stay stable for a while before losing again (I was at around 35lbs lost) but it didn't matter. I just wanted to see that number go down.
There were reasons it likely wasn't moving. My TOM was 2 weeks late. That will delay things. It was late because of a lot of stress. That will also stall you I believe. Then, I had my reward "week" during our vacation away at the wedding. I had not strayed from the keto path a single time in 6 months despite the Beast eating at Dairy Queen and loving his fruit.
Then when we got home, it was indeed unpleasant getting back into ketosis, allergies were at an all time high. On top of the allergy snot factory, I got a wicked cold and we had a late heat wave that registered the hottest days of the year for almost a week.
Things were bleak. I'll admit. But I kept on. I'd slip up, then keep on again.
Two days ago I was 193lbs. Yesterday, 191. Today 186!! Yes. I86lbs. I think my body finally let go of all the water. Must be? And...... my breath stinks again. No matter. I'll take it.
Whew. I think we're back on track.
The point?
Don't give up. Keep on trying. If you have to recommit 20 times that day. Do it. You haven't failed until you quit trying.
The other point?
I understand your frustration. Thought I'd share my experience in case you're struggling too. Believe it will let go. Sometimes the impossible just takes a little longer.

Thanks for posting! I've been yo-yo-ing within the same 5-10lbs since January (after losing 35ish pounds), but just started LCHF a few weeks ago. Finally starting to see the scale move down again is encouraging, and I'm only 1 pound away from getting out of the yo-yo range. During your 6-weeks, did you notice progress in other areas (like measurements)?0

Thanks for sharing. That is awesome advise that I am sure we all need from time to time. I know I do. I am like you and when I don't see any loss for a couple weeks I start to second guess everything.

I went through the same thing. I was so happy when I lost 89, I couldn't wait to get to my goal, but my weight loss came to a stand still. I was stuck for 7 weeks! I would gain 5, lose 5, but never pass the 89 lb mark. I didn't give up, but kept trying different things to break my stahl. It seemed like nothing I tried worked, but I guess when my body was ready I started loosing again. So your right, hang in there, and don't give up!0

Thanks for sharing. That's right where I am right now. Had a great week after week of consistent loss for almost 10 months. I can't and shouldn't complain, but I'm so close that it's frustrating to be +- 30 pounds from your goal to stall out. Oh well, I'll keep going but thanks again.0

No, I didn't really see any other changes over the 6 weeks (good changes that is). I did feel yucky, bloated and as though I was gaining for a week. Then last week my skin got really giggly. Kinda like it was too big, not really tight and that got me thinking that maybe my body was getting ready to let go of some weight. (I was right) Since my last measurements 6 weeks ago, everything stayed the same except apparently my calf got 1/2 an inch smaller and my bust got 1 inch bigger (huh?) So I'm figuring both were bad measurements the first time around.
Although in the past I have seen what you are asking about. The scale showed no loss but my measurements got smaller. People often report that. I actually wrote a post about it because I'm searching to know how it is scientifically possible!! I did hear one plausible theory but I've forgotten it now.
My recent experience was simply (I'm assuming) a stall based on several factors requiring me to recommit several times. To decide how much I wanted this and when the time came, to prove it with my actions.0 -

Yes! I hear you loud and clear. don't let the frustration get the better of you. You deserve to be well and happy. Trust the process. Get used to your new weight. Enjoy where you're at even, but continue with what you know has worked. I fully believe you can get there. Congratulations on coming this far!0 -
Awesome! And the unpleasant side effects of getting back on plan is good motivation to stay on it!! I have felt so good now all summer, I was thinking just this morning what a difference from how I used to feel all the time. Even if the weight is not moving fast (or at all sometimes), it is 100% worth it to eat this way just for general well being.0

Thanks for the motivational post. I've been in a stall now for 2.5 weeks. Well, I'm thinking of it quasi-stall. The only stall is that the scale isn't budging, but I've upped my exercise and I'm seeing improvements in how my clothes are fitting, especially noticeable this month in my slacks. I'm thinking of this as my body rearranging time. I also skipped a few days of recording since September 1, and wasn't recording EVERYTHING I was eating. Hmm. Stall? Maybe not. Just a lapse in focus. It happens. Back at it.. Me too w/ 32lbs more to go. Meanwhile, keep steering, steady as she goes..0

I am with you on body recomposition
It is exciting and not based on the scale for a change !
Sometimes we are making progress but we are not checking the things that show it!
Keep doing the right things to get the desired results.
So in 2 weeks I have lost no weight, but...
I can see a muscle division in my lower abs and a few veins in my hip flexor area.
That is amazing to me
Zero pounds lost
It isn't all about that dang scale!

Yes, it is frustrating to be at the same weight when you are following your plan. But looking at it from another point of view, I just yesterday had a massive meal of 1,500 calories with second and third helpings of roast pork followed by mini pavlova's for dessert and didn't GAIN even a fraction of a kg this morning. So weight stability has it,s upside too.0

I'm stuck too. I went back and looked at a weeks worth of macros and found too much protein and too little fat. This week my goal is to work my program more carefully and see whether that helps.0

I second this post. Went six weeks once with no loss at all! Then lost ten pounds in two weeks. It averages 5-6 pounds a month when I'm eating well (on target). You just have to look at the big picture and keep plodding on! Funny thing is the loss started after a cheat meal and this isn't the first time I noticed that. Kinda weird, but whatever!0
