Lets do some kettlebells...Do these five exercise twice.
1. Kettlebell High Pull
Targets: Shoulders, arms, glutes, legs
How to: Turn those toes out 45 degrees with feet a bit wider than shoulder-width apart. Place the kettlebell on the ground between both legs and begin to squat while keeping the core engaged, and grip the kettlebell handle with one hand. Then, using force from the hips, push through the heels to rise to standing, pulling the kettlebell upwards while the elbow drives up. Lower back down and switch arms. Shoot for 10 to 12 for each arm.
2. Kettlebell Lunge Press
Targets: Shoulders, back, arms, abs, glutes, legs
How to: Here’s a new way to spice up those lunges. Stand up straight while holding the kettlebell in front of the chest with two hands, arms bent and palms facing each other. Lunge forward with one leg while raising the kettlebell overhead (raise the roof!). Return to standing while returning the kettlebell to the chest. Try for 10-15 reps on each leg.
3. Kettlebell Sumo High-Pull
Targets: Back, legs, shoulders, arms
How to: We promise no wrestling is involved. Start with the kettlebell between the feet, set a bit wider than hip-distance apart. Grab onto the handle with both hands with the knees bent and hips back. Then, pull the kettlebell to the shoulders while the knees straighten and elbows rise. Remember: The force is coming mostly from the hips, the arms pulling at the very end. Keeping the core engaged the whole time, move the weight back down by the ground and repeat for 12-15 reps.
4. Kettlebell Russian Twist
Targets: Abs, obliques
How to: Forget crunches. Sit with the legs bent and feet flat on the floor, about hip-distance apart. Hold the kettlebell with both hands at the chest, and then lean back to a 45 degree angle. Here’s the fun part: Rotate the torso from left to right by twisting at the waist and swinging the kettlebell across the body. See how many you can do, with perfect form of course!
5. Kettlebell Windmill
Targets: Shoulders, back, abs, obliques, hips
How to: Hold the kettlebell in the right hand and angle the feet 45 degrees away from the right arm. Raise the kettlebell overhead, lock the arm, and keep your eyes on the weight (which will help keep the shoulders aligned!). Shift your weight onto the right leg and begin bending forward at the waist. Keep the right arm extended overhead as the body bends forward and the left arm is pointed toward the ground. (For all you yogis out there, this should feel similar to triangle pose.) Lift back up slowly, staying in control. Repeat for 6 to 8 reps on each side.
Let me know what you think. Have fun with these!

Kathy so glad you gave me the hamster. It must be a female though. Much sweeter. Great job on the tennis and the pom poms. Cheer for Kathy, congrats on the wins.
Paula you are a black sheep! I should have known. And we are still here. Glad the blood moon was a loser!
Chris I must do some kettles tonight. I ate like a pig during the day and only have 250 calories for tonight! My Angel has some sort of a parasite. Bugs on her. And maybe in her.
I ordered her some Prazi Pro and had it expedited to two day shipping. I hope it is not to late. The Butterfly fish is doing great still.
Off to court for me.
Have a great Monday everyone.

Caught the last half of the blood moon total eclipse last night. It was pretty neat!!
Meeting DDD in 20 minutes for our gym workout. Walked with DH and Bean this morning. The school is out for two weeks...modified year-round schedule... so we were over there for most of our walk. Somebody showed up about half way through our walk but we avoided them and escaped without being seen!! It was a worry because there was only one way in or out of the place and it was inside past some of the classrooms...EGAD!!!
Okay, off to the gym. Later my friends.

Chris you lead a dangerous life. So sneaky. But if you three get caught I will spring for bond money. Ask for an OR, you should get it if your record is otherwise clean. Muahaha. I am surprised you are now involving your DH.
Well I got in some weights and kettles. But I still over ate. My Angel is still hanging in there.
Shelley0 -
Thanks for springing us, Shelley! I don't know what an OR is, and we will have an otherwise clean record unless they look at my juvenile record...oops! But, I can explain! My DH is the worst. He wants to make all these complicated escape plans, splitting us up...I said let's just go in this way, all together...we did and we made it!
Got kettle, TRX and pull ups done tonight. It was a good workout.
I have 6.89 miles for 15,054 steps and a 45 minute gym workout for today.
Hope you all have a terrific Tuesday!
Chris0 -
Monday was a rest day. At the office today & tomorrow for fiscal year close out.
Hope Congress passes something by COB tomorrow or we Feds will be home on Thursday. Someone in DC needs to get a clue! The last shutdown in 2013 costed $24 billion. Stop playing politics we our livelihoods.
Will complete the challenge tomorrow evening. No practice again...rain rain go away.
Goodnight.

Chores done at 8:15? Full and satisfied with 1000 calories left? A 40 minute bike ride and not exhausted?
Leftover time, calories and energy - WTF?!? Did the blood moon move us to another dimension?
Growing older, it seemed like time flew by, there was less and less energy to do stuff and impossible to lose weight! But tonight time is moving backward!
Bike rode today on my beautiful blonde Bianchi Torino Dama. It turns out I was all weepy/wobbly because the other bike was too small. On one that fits, I'm almost graceful again. Or maybe we're all growing younger??? Dun dun dunnhhh...
Luv having you girlfriends!
:flowerforyou: Paula0 -
Walked at the school again today...no troubles this time! Whew! It was rather cool this morning...as in...cold and windy! It's supposed to warm up toward the end of the week. I wore a jacket for half our walk. Then went to help out in 1st grade. Then finished my book. Now starting a new book and heading for my pillow!
I managed 6.23 miles for 13,595 steps. A fine Tuesday, for sure.
Hope you all have a grand Wednesday! We have gym tomorrow.

Kathy my husband was one of the few federal employees that still had to work. While the majority got a paid vacation. If they are just going to pay everyone anyway let them work. And I agree, if I ran my household finances the way congress is run I would be living in a cardboard box ASAP.
Chris an OR is a signature bond. No cash needed up front. OR, own recognizance, or PR, personal recognizance. It is a guarantee that you will appear in court for your next hearing and abide by all bond conditions. If not you forfeit your bond and must pay the amount of the OR. I think your DH was trying to get you all caught. keep it simple..........
Paula I love your thinking....all growing young.
Angel fish is still alive. Medication should be here tomorrow. And Al Capone, the hard to get to eat butterfly fish. Well he eats all the time. Even recognizes me now. I will be buying more worms before I know it. Got in my kettles. Have a lovely Wednesday everyone.
And Kathy, I hope you took advantage of the rain and went for an umbrella walk!
SHELLEY0 -
Chris I almost forgot to mention this. I decided to get rid of some more clutter on a bookshelf. Tossed some papers, old notebooks and such. Then grabbed a Betty Crocker recipe file box. Have not even opened it in years. Spent around 20 minutes going through all the cards. Kept a few, probably to toss out later. And the rest went out with the trash. There were 2 recipes for peanut butter soup! Lol, you know I was thinking of you. I am slowly going to eliminate all my clutter. Need to make space so my tanks shine!
Hay all! I bought my controller. It is my birthday and Christmas gift. It can do so much. It will be the brain to my aquarium. It is an apex Neptune system controller. Not as kewl as Paula's new bike, but it is a close second! going to bed now.
Shelley0 -
Shelley, who is that in your new photo?0
-
Paula that white and orange fish is Jillibean. She is my clown fish. Her guy, Jackson was not in the picture. They are both captive bred. I have had the pair for around 2.5 years. They will both be moving to the large tank eventually. Jackson is the stinker who bites me when I am cleaning the tank. They have teeth!
Shelley0 -
So, Shelley, does the new controller mean a cell phone for you?
DDD said I couldn't get rid of any Christmas stuff...too many memories wrapped up in those boxes. Got rid of October though!! Dumped a whole lot of screenplays and donated writing books Monday. Will get back out there Friday. DDD and SIL are going down to Disneyland for Fri, Sat & Sun...so no 1st grade for me on Friday if the teacher is out of town!! Maybe I'll get DH out there to help go through his boxes...
Shelley...love Jillibean!
Walked w/the boys this morning at the school...there was a gardener who came onto the playground...he was working on the sprinklers, I think. He didn't say anything to us...we escaped through the gate he opened up to drive in. When we finished our walk we double checked that he didn't discover our way in and out. He didn't...we'll go back there tomorrow!!
Hit the gym for an hour w/DDD and our trainer. Brutal workout...again!
Managed 6.96 miles for 15,193 steps and a 55 minute gym workout. I'm good for today!!
Hope your Thursday is great!

It stopped raining long enough to get in a 2 hour practice. Yeah!! I got in 9,812 steps for 4.03 miles. Hope to get in another practice tomorrow...fingers crossed!
Goodnight,
Kathy0 -
Chris you should consider telling DDD that she is welcome to come look through the Christmas items you no longer want. Problem solved, she can store it! Muahaha. I truly do not care if I never put up another tree. Though I do. It is a modern looking thinner one. With hundreds of small glass ornaments I have collected. They all fit in one Rubbermaid container with batting layered between them. Do not think I have a super organized home, yet. I want it though. Work in progress. I did get rid of a karate book today though. Baby steps will get it done though. Planning on getting rid of a book shelf this weekend. Making room for my old aquarium to move into the other room. Less stuff means more time to do the things that you want with those you love.
Sounds like you are making great progress in the garage though. WOOHOO. I bet you can get hubby out there. He will be inspired by you. My inspiration is a book called Clutters last stand.Lol, love your walks. More like an adventure. Great workout.
Kathy glad mother nature was on your side.I have a late blooming iris Kathy! Never had one blooming into October before.
Hey Chris thanks, Jillibean is great fun. I have had her since she was about an inch long. She is now full sized around 3 inches.
Got in 20 minutes of weights. Hard to find time with all my chores. Sounds crazy but it takes about an hour to feed all the pets. The cat has to be locked away from the boys. He needs to eat soft prescription food, but refuses. Then I set out his insulin and load a syringe. Then get out the boys dinner dishes. Each has a different color fiestaware bowl. Oscar gets a mixture of prescription soft and hard food. The others all get a similar meal, just blue mountain though. All soft food must be cut into bite size portions and warmed up to take the fridge chill off. Oscar eats quickly. The others are a pain. Sometimes I just pick up their bowls and wait for daddy. Then I give the cat his insulin, and Cooper his pill in leftover kitty food. The fish are all another matter. Cleaning the worms containers, getting the baby brine shrimp. Yep time consuming. But I have it all on auto pilot. So often I am doing more than one thing at a time. How did I get talking about this? Yep I need to get rid of those things that do not really matter to me. :drinker:

Does going up and down the stairs all day count? Business licenses are expiring and the counter is downstairs and my cubicle is upstairs. Flying down and trotting up got the breathing going
Jillibean is a pretty girl.Good thing you don't have a hamster - it would probably need home cooked meals and you wouldn't have any time left for your kettles.
We can't do trees anymore. They aren't called trees in our house, they're called cat destructo mechanisms. Aaach!
:flowerforyou: Paula0 -
An iris in October...no way!0
-
Paula you gave me my morning laugh! Thank you! My tree is a Charlie Brown Christmas Tree. Comes in a box for $9.99 at Rite Aid drug store. You can get them plain w/one bulb...you can get them with one bulb and a blue Linus blanket and you can get them with one bulb, the blanket and Charlie Brown's Christmas song. My is plain w/one bulb. DDD takes it out of the box for us and puts it back in the box after Christmas is over.
Going to get Bean in a bit then we will walk for a while.
Have a great day, my friends!

I worked out with the trainer today...45 minutes core and upper body. I was sweating and she said "we're just stretching"
Wow. No practice tonight it is once again raining in GA.
6,180 steps for 2.54 miles
Paula I agree with Shelley definitely count those stairs.
Good night.
Kathy0 -
Kathy your trainer is a laugh a minute!! I pout and grumble at our trainer...we did 50...count them 50 assisted pull-ups yesterday. We use a fat, blue rubber band that is wrapped around the top bar...put one foot in it...and it helps us with the pull up. I can kinda do them. The hope is to get stronger and stronger and be able to do them without the band. Yeah, well, maybe!
Paula...steps count!
I managed 7.53 miles for 16,435 steps. Had the wrong shoes on when I went to 1st grade, and now, my feet are killing me! FOOT RUB!!!!!
Hope everyone has a terrific Friday. The kids are on their way to D'land unitl Sunday, so we have Bean for the weekend!

Kathy warm ups are the best part of working out. And cool downs of course. The rest is over rated. Nice steps. Sorry about the rain.
Chris you enjoy your visit with Bean. Great job on the pull ups! :drinker: You are super woman!

Snap peas are Delish! No workout for me today.
Kathy, rain here is so forgotten. Didn't stay dry in drizzle yesterday because the umbrella lay all-forgotten in the door pocket. bumbrella ??? whatzat?
Tired am...
Paula0 -
Chris - you're amazing...pull ups! I'm working on getting my core stronger...doing some of the exercises from yesterday including planks.
Paula - you're too funny and yes snap peas are delish.
Shelley - I agree. It's amazing how much I hate working out but once I starti I'm fine in fact I almost enjoy it.
Date night. I haven't actually seen Ron for 2 weeks between the flu, work and tennis. He sent me a selfie yesterday and said he was not getting a haircut until he sees me...his protest. I told him he really needed one badly. Do it for me and he would be rewarded. Later that evening I received a new selfie with the caption " I hope this works for you". He got a haircut.
Should be a fun evening. TGIF!

Paula I managed to break my umbrella. And it has been sprinkling here lots.
Kathy you enjoy your date night and the fact that you are feeling better. And glad he got his haircut. My DH refused to cut his until he got a better job once.It was bad! Now keep working out until you DO enjoy it.
And the core gets a workout almost all day long. Standing, sitting, during other workouts. We just have to uncover it.
Speaking of that how is the room coming along?
I so am going to work on my room tomorrow. Every little bit helps. Must find a nice spot for the aquarium.
Shelley0 -
I've been busy but it's good to check in and see that everyone is okay. Thought I was doing good having a veggie burger at Cafe Express but afterwards I see that it's 848 calories! Wow!0
-
Thanks, Kathy and Shelley! They aren't pretty but I'm tryin'
Rain is gone! **sigh** just enough to make my light blue car look like it has brown freckles all over it!!
Walked with the boys this morning. DH walked without his cane. We did 3.25 miles. Bean chased a rooster yesterday in the kindergarten playground, but the rooster was not around today...Bean looked high and low for him! The rooster won yesterday, by the way...
Managed 5.83 miles for 12,723 steps and a bunch of pages in my book!
See you all tomorrow!
