Does anyone have a problem with infections? I am prone to bacterial vaginosis, I do not think there is something with the pool, because (1) my kids and several friends have been going to this pool for years without complaints, (2) the pool operates also a lifeguard training school and they are very strictly regulated and controlled with weekly inspections and results posted for everything, including water lab results and (3) the last years this happens to me at least once a year, regardless of whether I am swimming in a pool or the ocean.
It is the second infection I get in a couple of months and although it is not dangerous, it is very annoying. It always goes a way with antibiotics, but I wonder if there is a way to prevent it. Have been to several drs and all think that for whatever reason my body is more sensitive to bacteria everyone has, and things get worse when I am swimming regulalry, but have not helped me actually prevent it from happening.

I've never had that issue. In doing some research, there doesn't appear to be anything one can do to prevent it, primarily because they just don't really understand BV. I suppose you could try supplementing with probiotics like they say to do for yeast infections.

Thank you for the replies. I have tried probiotics and cannot really say I noticed much difference. Could be the wrong brand of course. I have an appointment again with my dr later this week, I will ask about vitamin C, never thought of that.
