I've learned so much in the past week (4 weeks in) and I'm learning more every day. Thanks for the help!

Mine are at 20% carbs, 50% fat, 30% protein, but I'm not as low carb as a lot of people are. That 20% carbs is 90 grams for me (though I often come in below that). There is a keto calculator that can help you set your own based on your particular goals: http://keto-calculator.ankerl.com/

5% carbs, 20-25% protein, and 70-75% fat. I aim for ketosis, and since I am pretty sedentary, I keep carbs low.

They have been creeping up towards 10% lately though...

Thank you for asking this question. I wasn't sure what to set mine at either so I went with Carb 10%, Protein 25%, Fat 65% which puts me at 32 carbs per day and that seems to be the amount I eat generally.

    I follow the idea of:
    Stay under your carb-grams level.
    Meet your protein grams minimum.
Fill the rest with fat so food is tasty and you feel good.

So I jigger with the dumb macro settings until they are reasonably close to my gram targets.

It ends up being between 55-70% fat depending on how high my carbs end up being for the day. Macros are just a general guide. When I log my exercise calories, it futzes the percentages up anyway.

Those aiming for ketosis will get there if they keep their carbs low enough. Like I said, macros are a nice guide to get you started, but I think grams targets are better. Meet your carb and protein grams, let the fat fall where it may until you eat enough, but not too much.

Check out the keto calc to figure out where your protein min is. It will spit out the macro percentages, too.

  • Hello! 80/15/5. Fat/protein/carb. I'm doing this mainly for health issues. However, weight loss is much welcomed! I need to get my weight down to ease my fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis.

15/25/60 (Carbs/Protein/Fat). Seems to be working great for blood sugar management and is sustainable for me. I get just under 100g carbs per day on this plan.

I do the exact same. As long as I stay under on carbs I don't worry too much about the rest, but this is the ideal. I prefer grams to percentages.
  • I eat a carb max, protein minimum.

The rest is more protein or fat, or those fiber rich veggies that my body treats like they are not carbs. Greens and cabbage and broccoli.

Now of the good veggies like pound cake or ice cream.

I would like 25g carb, 100g fat, and 120g protein, They closest I can get on MFP without paying for premium is 5%, 60% and 35%. I think I need to look at the calculator again. I think it has me at a higher calorie than I put down, which I think adjust you percentages, Right?

My carb target is 20 grams total. I start with a carb target.

Next is my protein target - 100 to 150 grams. (Per the calculator of grams of protein per lean body weight.)

Fat is so awesome I don't have to target it. I would double my daily calories if I ate all the coconut oil I want.

I look at my macros daily just to see if anything is majorly wonky, but if I go with things in that order it all works fine.

Loosing 2 lbs per week since June 1st and feeling wonderful.

I believe I'm 5, 75, 20 (c, f, p). It's been a while since I've looked at them. The carbs I strive for 20 or less, protein is 80, and fat is set at 120 (?I think), but I don't reach that one anymore. Haven't been consistently hungry in months!
