I'm thinking of doing a 4 or 5 day egg fast. Wondering who has done one before? Was it worth it?
Thanks

I just did an egg fast for 3 days and lost 4lbs...I was losing and gaining the same few pounds for over a month so I'm hoping this will kickstart me back in the right direction.0
-
I didn't know that was a thing haha0

I have done them a few times. I always loose weight, but I gain it back the majority of it over the following weeks. It does help as long as you transition back to low carb slowly.
I breath I'm Hungary has fantastic recipes. The Buffalo omelette is my favorite. http://www.ibreatheimhungry.com/2014/07/egg-fast.html0 -
I've had a LOT of carb creep over the last couple of weeks due to a flu, a bit of stress and Thanksgiving (Canada). This sounds like a good way to get back on track. It will go very low carb and help me snap out of this....
Too many carbs has led to too many calories which has led to all weight loss stopping. I want to get this weight (~15lbs) lost within the next 4 months so I can settle into maintenence without second guessing my reasons. Am I actually at my ideal weight (no) or just not putting in the effort (yes)? Then the guilt follows. LOL
I'll do it tomorrow. Plus I'm out of the house a lot the nex few days and eggs are easy to carry. Thanks.0 -
I was supposed to start today but had a monster of a panic attack early this morning. Today I'm left with the nasty nausea and lingering anxiety0

Heal first, then egg fast or whatever.... Remember too, the wise words of my friend Annie, "Sometimes a setback is the exact distance you need to get a running start to leap over your obstacles."0

Love that! And oddly enough, last nights horrible horrible panic attack has sent me back on the right direction. I've had an awesome day in terms of food and have kept busy making horseradish, cleaned the chicken coop, walked the dogs up the mountain in our top acreage.0 -
YAY!0

What is any egg fast? Do the eggs fast or do I? LOL0

I don't want fasted eggs...but what about the... smells?0

If you're referring to the farts you get when eating eggs normally, the digestion process improves eating this way, and add to that that most folks focus on getting grain-free, cage-free, etc. better eggs, so there's less of the chemicals that cause that general reaction... I've not gotten egg "gas" despite eating 8+ eggs some days.0 -
Alright, I'm curious about egg fasting. I started today. Just making cheesy fried or scrambled eggs, nothing fancy. I don't feel the need to have a bunch of different meals.
I don't know how long I'll do it yet.
I've been having increasing hunger lately, but maintaining weight. Hopefully, I can get the hunger back to the minimal level I previously felt.
I'll be drinking bulletproof coffee without HWC, eating eggs, cheese and butter and drinking tea and water all day along with some chicken broth as needed.
Wish me luck!0 -
I used to get the egg farts like no tomorrow when we bought eggs from the grocery store but it's funny because we now have our own chickens and I don't get the egg farts from eating their eggs. Our chickens do free range on 1/2 acre and eat lots of bugs and plants though.0

So, after 3 days of egg fasting (though I had some meat for 2 meals) I've lost .8 lbs. I'm only 11 from goal so that's huge!
It got the scale moving again after 21 days of ups and downs that never created a new loss. I am going to see it through part of today because I will be out of eggs and doubt I'll make it to the store today. Lol
But I will keep carbs under 10 today and tomorrow in hopes of holding closer to the new weight and staving off more stalling. This makes sense in my brain, if not reality.0 -
Congrats @Sunny_Bunny_ I know how it feels when the scale won't move. I think I stayed at 163 for about three months. That's what made me start this journey, to shake things up.0
-
Awesome @Sunny_Bunny.
I didn't last that long but only because of time. I t's been one of those weeks so making eggs took too much time when I was cooking other food for the family. I do plan on doing this for a few days. My 24 hours helped with my carb creep, so I think a longer almost-zero-carbs stretch of eating would help me too.
You've motivated me to tighten up my carbs!0 -
I have the hardest time lately with carb creep and it's just because of 2 items that I really like that I can stay under 40g total even when I include them, but every single time I start including them again, my weight loss stops! It's low carb tortillas and quest bars. Now, I might have a tortilla 3 times a week when I include it again but the quest bars I only eat half of one about 3 times a week but like clockwork, I go up and down a few pounds staying at least a pound higher than whatever my previous low weight was. If it hadn't become so predictable, I would think it's a coincidence!0

Anyone have a link to a good egg fast regimen? I don't know exactly what you do for that0

I hear you! for me it is a cheesecake I made for Thanksgiving, and those xylitol sweetened chocolate chips. I'm still in ketosis but my fasting blood glucose gets higher than I like and I am actually hungry and snacky... Funny. That used to be my norm. LOLAnyone have a link to a good egg fast regimen? I didn't follow a regimen. Just ate scrambled eggs with cheese most of the time. But I did have chicken wings for dinner one night and a small amount of steak with my eggs for lunch another day.0

I did an egg fast once. Lost about 6 pounds but gained a few of them back and continued my stall about three pounds lower.0

I haven't seen them but I did know they existed. I absolutely have to regard quest bars as a candy and not a food. They taste like candy, so they are candy. I think that's the best approach in general. If it tastes like candy... Treat it like candy, which means only have it in small amounts occasionally.
This is going to have to be how I do things.0 -
I think I'm one of the few who has never tried a Quest bar. I've never actually noticed them before. I wonder if hey are sold in Canada?0

Pretty likely they are, look in protein bar section at a well stocked grocery store or workout/vitamin store. But be careful you might really like them!0
-
LOL I won't risk it then.0

I haven't had one either. They are as expensive as heck, and they can't be any tastier than the low-carb treats I've made for myself at home (which are amazing) and are without sugar alcohols.0 -
I am in Canada and after hearing so much about Quest bars, I bought one at Superstore. I found it pricey for what you get. The taste is so unnatural and yucky tasting to me, and my body didn't enjoy it either. Totally not worth the money or my time. I got that out of my system and will never ever eat one again, yuck. I'd rather eat real food or not eat!0

Me, three. I have a disastrous history with the type of sugar alcohols they tend to use in the commercially available bars, so they terrify me more than tempt me! And the price!?!?!?! Oh, he....ck, no!0
