Already started cleaning out the fridge and making sure not to buy things that do not fit into that very healthy Phase 1 Tune Up! Also, making sure I stick to a pretty good program now so I do not gain five pounds before the start. :o

I am getting my kitchen ready to be all set for the 10th. Appliances, as well as an easy kitchen to cook in...(it's really small so I am getting rid of the clutter)...may practice on that breakfast quiche from the SB cookbook...I haven't made it ages.

Hubs is out of town this next week, so I'm going to practice then.
My goal for this next tune up is to forgo wine even. whoot.

I'm gearing up! I've been making a mental list of what I can have for lunch each day.

Oh my gosh me too!i'm going to make it very simple. I'm going to have taco salad all week for lunch at work no chips of course. For breakfast I'm going to have South Beach diet quiche. For dinner protein and vegetables. For dessert yogurt and jam or healthy choice fudge bar and absolutely no peanut butter because I have no control over it

The salad is going to be mason jar salads but I'm thinking I'm going to heat up the meat separately

Then sprinkle on the cheese and dump all the other ingredients

    Kidney beans
    Romaine
    Tomatoes
    Onions
    Avocado
    Salsa
    Lime

Sabine, w hat do you think about these: http://www.lightandfit.com/light-yogurt/light-and-fit-greek/strawberry-cheesecake?gclid=Cj0KEQiA_MK0BRDQsf_bsZS-_OIBEiQADPf--gmEVxWvt4hvLYt-M2wuak8esXnN-0kTTp_ZZzjNbDcaAj4_8P8HAQ&gclsrc=aw.ds

Thinking of those for desserts...the pudding sounds great, but I know I would not be able to stop at one portion. There are some ingredients in this particular line of yogurt that are a bit questionable.

Will finish up my shopping today for the week.

That's a lot of added sugar for phase 1 (7grams versus 3 grams recommended).

    Fooducate isn't impressed. http://www.fooducate.com/app#!page=product&id=09B2E2E2-F420-11E0-8977-1231380C180E

    They look tasty!

Yeah, I knew not a great pick. Will stick with % Fage...add nsa jam...I like Nature's Hollow...they use Xylitol.

And I know myself, if I start making little subs here and there...soon I have blown the whole idea of P1.

Thanks for the feedback...needed it! <3

I so much enjoyed you ladies in the phase 2 thread and I'm starting in phase 1, I may as well go here!
Ill post my question here that I posted in that thread so that maybe someone else who is possibly wondering the same thing can get an answer (I don't want to cross post
Edit: ummm, where did the rest of my post go lol. Let's try this again.
Quick question for you guys. How important is portion size for things like homemade soup, hotdishes, homemade dressings, etc.? I know there's some general guidelines, but I was just curious.

I'd say if you feel like you're eating a normal amount, it shouldn't be an issue. Dr. A didn't encourage weighing etc. except for nuts. Soup is hard to really over eat, as it has such a big volume!

Let's see if I can recall yesterday:

Breakfast was mentioned above, forgot the almond milk with my coffee

Snack was some cucumber and cottage cheese

Lunch was some ham slices with sharp cheddar (wanted salad but was rushed for time), grabbed some baby carrots and grape tomatoes (not for phase 1, but whatever, lol).

I had an early dinner since we were going to karate, my broiled fishies and cottage cheese (mahi mahi coated in an egg and tiny amounts of flour and panko...yeah, not south beach friendly but in the long run won't matter). Then I had some cottage cheese along with it.

Not enough veggies yesterday, hopefully that will improve today.

25 min on bike before work. No avocado for breakfast

Otherwise everything the same. May add almonds for late night snack which would exceed nut legal amounts. Or may have yogurt and NSA jam.

Bought sugar free Popsicles. Brrrr. To help me through tough times.

Day three we are rocking this!

    Day 4

    b veggie patty, v8, coffee
l veggie patty, LTO, mozza stick
s olives, sugar snap peas, sf popsicle
d mason jar taco salad (last one)
d %fage, nsa jam, chopped almonds, sf popsicle

There is some small amount of quinoa in the veggie patty...but they are the best ones I have found...and easy. Full disclosure B)
