my husband doesn't like Almond Flour, other choices?

Every time I make something with almond flour, he doesn't like it. I have no idea why. I think it tastes fine.
Other than coconut flour, any other replacements I could use?

I think I may just have to do 'his' and 'mine'.... or just mine. the chocolate crust for my no bake cheesecake tonight was so good, my 7 year old ate the crust he didn't eat with finger-licking delight.

Other nut flours will work too...hazelnut flour, pistachio flour, etc. Or you might want to try carbalose flour or even carbquick for your husband's version. Are you sure it isn't the dryness that often accompanies almond flour that your husband is objecting to?

This is how I've always dealt with onion powder. lol
And I've even served him zucchini lasagne without him noticing there were no noodles. He said "So I guess you're off your diet now"? Lol
He thought I was eating pasta!

I don't know that you will find anything with the same texture as regular flour, so he might have to suck it up or not eat it. lol.

are you using almond flour (ex: King Arthur brand) or almond meal (Trader Joe's has a good version)? Try using the one you're not using if texture is his issue. I actually think the flour is very flour like whereas the meal is a little more chunky. I like them both but I have some texture issues with other foods so I can understand.

lol, FTW. I make crushed almond chicken tenders and he doesn't know the difference. But he's not much of a picky eater either. As long as I don't serve cold cereal he's never complained in 25 years of marriage.

I love men. I'm sure there are some out there that are as picky as I am about eating, but I haven't met them.

Let him starve? Just kidding. My kids don't like a lot of the keto friendly stuff (well, mixed batch, 2 do, 2 don't) so I make them regular food and do mine separate.

He said that it was the texture.

Coconut flour has much more of a pure flour texture to it than any nut flour does; however, it is also higher in carbs so use it judiciously.

Garbanzo flour. It behaves a lot like wheat flour.

Back when I used to bake a lot more gluten free baked goods, I used to mix various flours. Quite often I would mix almond meal with chickpea flour (garbanzo bean), especially for a quick flat bread I used to make. It satisfied my longing for bread like foods a couple of years ago.

Taste buds change the longer one eats this way. I no longer desire to eat these foods, even the substitutions.

I think that I would continue to make the almond meal foods, but maybe have something else on the side for your husband.
