Hello. I'm new to this group, but not completely new to the keto diet. Many years ago I discovered a book call the "Type 2 Diabetes Diet" and followed it. It was a very low carbohydrate diet as well as a very low calorie diet.

I lost a lot of weight, but was unable to keep it off.

I'm now considering a wiser approach to the keto diet - one that isn't so restricted calorie wise.

I have some questions: what books / websites have all of you found helpful to you? And, if you measure your ketones, what method do you use and why?

Thanks!

A lot of us are in the cousin group: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/394-low-carber-daily-forum-the-lcd-group

They have an absolutely AWESOME stickied post called Launch Pad or something that has a ton of references. That group accepts all manner of low carbs, so Keto is included, but there are many folks there who aren't keto, and many who are... I'd recommend checking out that group and post for more resources. There are several book threads too.

    So far:
    Keto Clarity
Cholesterol Clarity, both by Jimmy Moore and Dr. Eric C. Westman

Those are the only ones I've personally read some of.

Another highly recommended often is "The Art and Science of Low Carb Eating" or something like that...
