I am Paleo but wanted to drop weight faster and found BulletProof. It is working great but wanted some buddies to share with. I am looking for only POSITIVE remarks as sometimes on these MFP boards people can be really mean. So only looking for people actually on the diet or that have actually been on the diet and maybe if there were some problems. Thanks! I am a very encouraging person, if you need more friends here too! Viki

Like many, I enjoy BPC. I do not explicitly follow any specific branded diet but am interested to hear how folk including yourself enjoy different ways of eating.0

I enjoy it. I don't drink it that often. I find that if I have too much coconut or MCT oil in one go, it upsets my stomach. Some people tolerate it just fine, some have to increase the fats very slowly.0

I do the coffee every morning - good stuff!!0

You should find most people here are pretty positive, even when we aren't on the same plan or completely agree. I think there's a lot of good stuff with the bulletproof plan. Personally, I enjoy my coffee with butter (just butter), but that's really the extent of my experience with his plan.
From what I gather, it's pretty whole-foods based. That I agree with.0 -
Welcome! I drink BPC but am not familiar with the full Bulletproof Diet. Hope it works well for you though!0

Thanks for the replys! I would love to talk to someone who has done the 2 weeks diet part. Just eating the 2 meals a day. I've done it for a week and I am not hungry.0

I have always been a 2 meals a day person. Even in my previous high carb ways. But I don't exactly follow Daves plan. I do have the book and find his insight into supplementation and brain hacking very interesting and definitely employ some of his techniques.
I stay very low carb and don't eat the slightly higher carb items that he includes in his plan for those it works for. I do like his approach in that it's encouraged to tailor your diet to your specific needs and I've become more interested in better coffee sources from his information about that, even though I don't really suspect I have issues with junky coffee.
Anyway, welcome to the group! I think you'll find very likeminded folk here even if they don't follow Bulketproof exactly.0 -
I have never heard of that plan? Care to share? I'm on keto and have 2 cups of BPC every morning for breakfast (my version of BPC is just HWC and coconut oil) then I have lunch and sometimes another cup in the afternoon and then dinner. I stay full unless it's time to eat (lunch or dinner) that's what I love about this WOE!0

It's Dave Asprey's The Bulletproof Diet
There is a book and he has a good webpage and podcast. He's into much deeper stuff than most want to get into. I'll warn you. But there's lots of good info. You just have to apply what fits you best because there's simply too much.
The book he keeps simpler and he recognizes that most people don't do all of the things he does. I can't even explain it exactly... But the actual plan is basically Keto but allows more vegetables and maybe brown rice and sweet potato for those that can tolerate it. The book is very good reading for detailed info about a lot of things.0 -

@Sunny_Bunny_ I've very interested in the brain-hacking stuff. I'm not at a point where I can buy or read his book, but I was wondering if you could offer any pointers there.0 -

I wish I had a functioning scanner because I would totally send you chapters! Lol
I need to go through it again. The first time I listened to the audio book. Then I bought it and I bought a bunch of little post it notes to mark things. I just haven't dug into it yet.

Fascinating. I do the coconut oil in my coffee each morning, but I don't know if his full diet is for me. I find it easier to focus on my macros rather than have anything that is too prescriptive. I don't do a lot of cooking in general.
I'm sure it's very healthy and effective just from what I can see of it.0 -
Hey Sunny_Bunny thanks for all the input! I appreciate it.0

KitOrMiss you can find everything on the internet at bulletproof.com. Start here and you can really read most everything on line. https://www.bulletproofexec.com/start-the-bulletproof-diet/ I have the book and have read the whole thing. The BulletProof Coffee (BPC)it really great. I haven't had breakfast for 2 weeks and have dropped 8 lbs. so far. I am not as strict as David is according to his book but that is just because there are other people that I have to feed here and am constantly shopping for two different eating styles. Such is life! Let me know if you have more questions.0

DorkothyPar... do you use coconut oil or MCT oil?? The MCT oil is Coconut oil x 8 with greater benefits. FYI!0

I've read a lot of it in the past, long before I went low carb. I just wish I could tolerate coffee. SIGH I got my system way overloaded making BP Tea, and I'm struggling with regaining ground there - both from reactions to the tea - and to the coconut oil.0 -
I've been so envious of those who have raved about BPC ... I can't drink coffee, didn't care for the BPT but yesterday made BPBouillon AND IT'S TERRIFIC! My new morning drink ... and it lasts forever.0

MCT is FLAVORLESS so it blends in better... Caprylic acid doesn't have to be processed, and goes straight to the brain for ketone energy, so the pick me up is there. Capric is easily processed to energy. Lauric is more concentrated in Coconut oil and so is the slow burner of energy here. The proportions in traditional coconut oil are different, but the components are there...0 -

@hakamruth for the BPB I use 2 tsp of beef bouillon powder in 12 oz. water and add 1 tbsp. butter and 1 tbsp HWC and whip it with my mini hand mixer. yummy. I have MCT oil on order and will be adding 1 tbsp when it arrives.
Super rich, super good.
ETA: I prefer my chicken bouillon with only 1 tbsp butter added.

Strongly recommend starting with only 1 tsp NOT TBSP at a time with MCT. It's ... bathroom effects are amplified, even when already CO adapted...0 -
I, too, start my day with bouillon and butter... I swear I say "MMmmmmmmm" after every sip... I'm probably terribly annoying, but it's practically involuntary... it's just so damn good!
1 heaped tsp Herb Ox Chicken Bullion (granulated) and ~1tbsp Kerrygold unsalted butter.
I think the high sodium of the bouillon is part of why it feels/tastes so good to me, as I'm still pretty early in this keto thing and working on keeping electrolytes up.0 -

Thanks ... will start slowly.

Yes, start slow with the mct oil! I used 1 tsp in a 24 oz cup and still had the "effects" before even drinking half of it! I haven't used CO in my coffee either, though. So I haven't become CO adapted, so to speak!0
-
Definitely, going to try this. I am more of a savory person, so already anticipating the taste. I was looking for a way to up my fat and sodium intake and this would be perfect! Thank you everybody!0

I find certain teas better as BPT. I really like any variety of chai made BP. What have you tried?0 -
I gingerly sipped my first cup of BP coffee yesterday. Imagine my amazement when it actually tasted good. Of course, I spiked it with some sugar free mocha Skinny Syrup. But still, I was very pleasantly surprised. Oily, greased coffee was never high on my list of "yummy thing to try someday."0

@Panda_Poptarts Have only tried the ones I had on hand ... constant comment, spearmint, black breakfast, red zinger. But your chai sounds like a total winner! I had totally forgotten about that and love creamy chai tea. THANKS for reminding me.0
