Soooo...I discovered that sugar free chewing gum has carbs...Do you count this in your daily count?

Sugar alcohols or other carbs? Some people count sugar alcohols, some people don't.
I don't count them because I don't feel like they have an effect on me. But some people are VERY sensitive.0 -
Haven't been recording them in my food diary ... Now wondering if I should be, esp since some days it's more than one or two pieces of sugar free gum. Those carbs add up.0

I quit chewing gum about a year ago. I was chewing so much I am certain the carbs were adding up. It makes keto-breath fun though! NOT!0

There have been discussions about chewing gum for people with bile/limited bile production... Because when you chew and saliva is produced, your stomach also starts dumping in bile/digestive fluids, but no food comes to use it up... I used to chew more and now I don't find myself doing it much, due to just natural course of things, not any specific attempts. Does anyone else have that issue? For me, that would mean I might end up with heartburn if I chewed gum mid-day or late if I had an extra fatty dinner...0

I prefer sugar free / low carb (less than 1g) Altoids minis. I imagine I'd log the gum if I chewed it.0

Oh no, I had no idea. I chew gum quite a bit because my breath is gross. I guess I will start counting it though.0

I love gum, it helps me keep from snacking. Due to the carbs I keep them counted and don't go over board- one piece for each between meal space, between breakfast and lunch for example. Since I chew gum instead of food I figure that even an extra piece or two is better than whatever I would have eaten!0

I chew gum to help with my dry mouth from a couple meds. It hasn't affected anything. Ketostix showing ketones.0

Yes, I count it. The lowest carb gum I'm found is this:

Fwiw, It comes in 4 flavors and contains 0.75 carbs per piece.0
