Why is 3 inches so hard to lose?

Does anyone have any tips on seeing immediate results to get rid of 3 inches? I've substantially cut breads, rices, pastas...starches, and sugars from my diet. I'm not so bloated looking or looking as if I'm 4 months pregnant, but when I "suck it in" I can stand to lose 3 inches from my midsection to see some noticeable abs being held hostage.

I am doing Jillian Michaels 30 day shred. It has taken inches off my waist better than any thing else I have tried. 3 inches in the first 20 days.0

Resistance training, preferably with heavy weights. Getting in the gym and doing a program with low reps and heavy weights should show progress quickly as long as you're consistent.
Cutting carbs might initially help with bloat, but after that it's all about being in a calorie deficit, getting adequate protein and fat in your diet, and resistance training to preserve muscle while your body sheds fat.0
