Newbie here

Hi,

I'm new at this. History of binge eating followed by restrictions. Not the healthiest, but really trying to work on stability going forward and I think this might work for me. I have to admit, I can't imagine losing weight while eating more than 1200 calories, but I'll give it a try.

I'm 5'3 and 142. My highest was 178 and I've been struggling the last 18 months with the last 15-20lbs for my goal weight. I'm athetic and have curves and don't need to be lower than the mid 120's. :)

I go to a cardio boxing class 5 times a week. I estimate roughly 625 calories burned per class based on a heart rate monitor I've warn a few times.

So, onto the results...I based the calculation on a sedentary job (I sit in front of a computer), but added that I workout 5 times a week and burn 625 calories. I should also add that I used 2 different sites to calculate (I wanted to compare and make sure they were similar). The results...

1400-1500 calories
145-155 carbs
110-115 protein
38-55 fat
28-35 fiber

Does this sound about right? Keeping the carbs down will be tough because I love fruit (apples/bananas especially), but I should be able to get close with a few adjustments.

Any help, advice, guidance would be appreciated!

I'm new at this as well-just started today. Looking at your stats, we're almost the same. I'm 5'4" and 145. I was 176 and lost 30lbs last year doing weight watchers on my own and working out 4 days a week. I want to be in the 130's but its been a struggle these past 5 months. I'm like you in that I love fruit! Trying to figure out food for today was so foreign since I'm used to low-cal but high carb. I looked at different calculators online and have settled with:
    1516 calories
    147 carbs
    117 protien
    51 fat
    25 fiber
How have you done since February?
