Hey Peops...new week, new goals :p

After the festivities last week my weight is up. But my fast today has gone well. Off to taichi class soon, so it should stay that way.

My goals for this week....two successful fasts and the other days rather lower than maintainance than over. Weather seems to be OK, thus I will go to work by bike on Tuesday and Thursday if it stays dry, a swim on Wednesday. First week in a while that I get some exercise in during the week.

A week off of work as of Saturday, so I'm going to make this one count. The beautiful spring weather is quite motivating B)

Have a good one!

It was raining this morning...so no biking to work. But I came home to beautiful spring weather and ran 6k and added 2x10 push ups in at the end. YES!!! First afterwork run in a very long time and I haven't done many push ups of late either. :)

Flumi you are so active! I am impressed. I should be jealous too, but I hate exercise too much for that.

Today I am just a bit more than 10 lbs down from my 5:2 starting point one month ago. Goal this week is to keep going and to continue reducing sugar and artificial sweeteners in foods. Haven't had a Diet Coke in a month, and I'm using stevia plus 1/4 tsp sugar in tea, coffee, and carbonated water.

My delicious dinner tip for FD: 1 cup of lime-cilantro shrimp from Costco plus a steamed artichoke with 2 tbsp of mayo/lemon dipping sauce. Filling and under 500 cals according to MFP calculations. Yay!

Awesome progress @GraetLifeIfYouDontWeaken ! I've actually been pretty lazy as of late, but I'm working on my mojo ;-)

So far, so good this week. At or below maintenance Sun and today and a good fast yesterday. I has an extra 50 calories of chocolate yesterday because the end of school is coming and the students are... ecxited is a good word for it. This week should be pretty good. It looks like Spring is giving a lot of us motivation! Keep up the good work, y'all!

I've been trying to get back into running, too, @flumi_f ! In a very time compressed way, though. Has anyone else read Mosley's stuff on doing fasted HIT (high intensity training)? I've
been doing something like it on fast days, following the NYT's 10-20-30 workout (http://mobile.nytimes.com/blogs/well/2015/07/29/a-way-to-get-fit-and-also-have-fun/?referer= ).

And now for some (Fast) food porn: baked salmon with tarragon, brown rice and sauteed broccoli.

Fast day #1 went great yesterday. Also made a great dinner for tonight in the crock pot so won't be tempted to eat out.

I too am biking to work this week. I picked up a new set of wheels last night and will do 3 miles in AM to the bus and 3 miles home in PM.

Running is something I want to get into but haven't been able to figure it out. First step is a doozy that I haven't been able to overcome - yet. Gonna add that in starting Saturday.

Well done on your run that's great!

I could never run more than 10 mins without being physically sick, but after many attempts and increasing my distance a little each time, last year I finally mastered it (can only run with a chewing gum in though to control my breathing - strange!) I can now run quite a distance & actually really enjoy it! I go about three times a week, as I also do body pump, spin and boot camp classes :) although sometimes it kills me, I feel so much better after my exercise and it makes me want to keep on track more so all that hard work isn't wasted! Also find that exercise really helps me emotionally and stops me getting stressed and it makes me feel a lot more positive!

For those of you wanting to run. ...slow and steady at the beginning. Run slower than you think you could. At the beginning that might resemble a shuffle more than a run. If you need to catch your breath, slow to a brisk walk. Puls down again...start running. ...and repeat. At the beginning you will be slow and walking a lot
, but you will make quick progress. Come to a hill...do the same...slow small jogging steps. You might even be slower, than your walking pace. Doesn't matter.

There are apps like c25k for those liking a program. I just started 2.5 yrs ago as described above. I'm still not fast, but I enjoy myself when I'm out there, run 6-10km at 8kph including my incline up to the forest.

As in any exercise. ..challenge yourself, but don't kill yourself. Enjoy it!

Hello all my lovelies :) I am back logging and weighing everything as well as using my Fitbit again. I was off everything while the kids were on holiday, so feeling a bit of guilt. Have not dared weigh myself yet. Very scared :s Yesterday I had a very successful fast in he 500's with no subtracted workout calories. Today is also very low and I feel back on track. No more mindless eating and I am feeling a lot less bloated. Plus!

Hi friends! Had a great fast day yesterday and even though I was only down .2 from my lowest, I was still excited as tomorrow's fast will only lead to more of a total loss overall. I'm well on my way to meeting my goal of 135 lbs before my 40-something birthday on the 29th. Even though I've been at my my current weight of 140 for a while, I'm still amazed that I weigh 140. You know what I mean? I sometimes feel a disconnect because I was overweight for so long and tried so many plans without success, that I'm still in somewhat of a disbelief that I actually found something that works. For the longest time, after I lost the weight, I had "fat dreams". Dreams where I'd wake up panicked, thinking that I had only dreamed I'd lost weight. I'm glad those have stopped. But to those of you just starting out...this way of life does work.

Hi y'all! (No I'm not southern just listening to a Paula Deen podcast while doing my weights :D) Wow everyone sounds like they're doing so well this week! Good job! At the end of last week there was a newcomer @bellarose1207 ....let us know how your first fast day went!!

Lots of runners & cyclists! Sounds awesome that everyone has an exercise they enjoy! I cannot run, as there is a 3" spike in my knee from a surgery I had when a kid.... Nowadays, the same surgery is a 1" scar from laser treatment! So I walk, and try to get 10k steps a day. I'm finding I probably do more than that most days but only log 2 specific walks each day, one with my golden, the other without her. I think the walking is just as important as counting calories because I see that number logged immediately after I'm finished, reinforcing my efforts for the rest of the day! Really like this app!!

The photo of that salmon @klmcneil1 looked so good that's what I made for dinner last night! Except I added a coleslaw with mine! Thanks for the inspiration!

I have been considering only one fast day a week soon.... Then using one day to eat at maybe 800-1000 cals...just upping slightly since I'm doing more weight/strength training (3-4 day) and feel I need the fuel. Anyone else near this point? I'm also nearing my goal of a 30" waist (I'm on target for Flossy's bday!) which was my goal for the 29th and my daughters grad! Gotta look good in my new dress!! ;) Cheers everyone! Keep up the awesome efforts!!

Well so much for a FD today. I have learned that when I wake up starving, it isn't in the cards to fast. I'm pretty sure if I had tried to fast, I would have eaten my kids. So, I decided perhaps today is not the day. C'est la vie...tomorrow then. And may I just add that this is another reason why I do not homeschool my kids. Because had they been home today AND I had tried to go through with my fast...well, I think you know what might have happened.

    @flossyruby1 you crack me up!
I had a decent fast today. More chocolate than I should have had, but still under 500. Tomorrow is snack day at work, and I have been saving calories for it all week. :) I hope you all have a great day!

well done everyone for fasting this week, happy its Friday and I have nearly finished work woo! this week is my third week on track, the last two weeks I have been fasting 3 days (Monday, Wednesday & Friday) but I woke up this morning and really didn't fancy it but I still fasted Monday and Wednesday so I'm all good! I think its because I have never only done two days before I felt like I haven't accomplished this week but I actually have, and coming on here has made me realise that! Also lost 1.5 pounds since last week, really happy about that considering last saturday Saturday consisted of loads of chocolate and pizza... opps! determine to see another loss like that again now!

Today I did not wake up famished, so I will be fasting. Even though I have a goal in mind, I'm going to remain open to the idea that my body may not tolerate my goal. My weight loss has slowed down for sure and I don't want to set an unrealistic goal because it is in my nature to equate that as a failure. Having my weight hover around the low 140's for a 5'7" woman is respectable. So while I'm still going to try for my goal, if I don't reach it, I'm good. I needed to put that out there because, as it's been mentioned before, weight loss/maintenance is such a head game and as I am an over thinker, sometimes writing something down makes it all ok. I may try Mama's approach with one FD a week, as Mosely suggests in his book. This makes me a little nervous because my tracking on non FD isn't very consistent, but I may find having one strict FD vs 2 FD where I keep the calories "loose" may be more effective in the long run. To be continued...

Weighed in today at 86,5kg so Lost another 2kg since last Friday and now lost 6.5kg over the 2,5 weeks I have been on the 5:2. My target is 80kg so I am already halfway!
Very happy.... Particularly because I feel great, and I don't really find it that I suffer or it is difficult. In contrast to other times I tried to loose weight.

    Have a great weekend ahead.
