Welcome to newbie TheBestCarSinger! I hope you enjoy this challenge as much as I do. This is a very supportive group and we are pretty loyal. Some of us have been doing this challenge faithfully for over 5 years!!
@lovemyalex - I hope you are sorted out now. When I do the updating, which is on weekends, I don't check your numbers I just blindly enter what you say is the total, and sometimes I don't even do that very well. So if it was my mistake I'm sorry!

My first outdoor ride in a while. Pollen is so far in the red it is at the top of the scale. Quite windy too (gusts to 20). Lots of cyclists out, then there is me. It is sad really that I can't join a certain cycling group because I don't fit in. I don't have a bling bike, only have black knickers and decent jerseys. I have SPD pedals and MTB shoes as it is easier to clip in/out. Why do 'real cyclists' sneer or make remarks just because people like me that rides hard, but just can't quite keep up, just don't quite make the cut of a 'real cyclist'? It's small wonder I ride alone on every ride. I still wave at cyclists I see along the way, not that I get a wave back, but maybe I should just stay on my turbo, listening to YouTube music, leave the road to the real cyclists. Sorry for the rant, just feeling sad.

My very first Parkrun (34:37) on Saturday the 16th. I'm pleased with my time AND I came 2nd in my age category VW60-64. I've tried running before and repeatedly got injuries - thanks @Dave for all the advice you gave me then. I had to take 18 months off. Started again with C25K in January and I'm now a member of a running club!! I'll never do a marathon, but I'm very proud of what I've achieved.

This makes me so sad. In my area, the cycling community is so different from that! Please don't let what you perceive from other cyclists stop you from getting out and enjoying your bike! Hoping you find a group that fits. (Maybe even make your own group!)

@k80flec: Awesome job at your race! Never say never...at age 59, I went out to see if I could run a mile without collapsing and I am running Half Marathons at 62. My first race was a sprint triathlon. I still hope to run a full once I retire and can invest the time in training.
@anaconda469: We have snobby cyclists and wonderful ones too. I don't have all the fancy stuff and I refuse to have clip ins because of risk to my knee and falling but I can still can beat lots of 20 somethings in some of my duo and triathlon events. You just need to find a nice group of people. Hang in there.
