Hi, I`m curious how much protein do you guys eat per day. I`m asking this because I eat 150gr , which is not a random number I found it as a formula in one fitness blog/website or whatever. So how much protein do you eat per day and how did you get to that number?

http://keto-calculator.ankerl.com/ I recommend this calculator. It gives a range. I try to stay within the range given, so I'm at 80 gm a day.2

I don't track anymore, but when I did, it was about 65g for me.1

I actually had some one tell me last week that when you first start off like myself, I should eat 1 gram of protein for every pound I weigh, and then reduce from there as the weight comes off.0

Try to keep it around 80g, my range from the Keto calculator above is 61-100 depending on activity and lately I've been extra sedentary due to back pain and then a freaking 4 day migraine. So honestly in the last week or so I haven't even got close, I've barely eaten at all. But when my head isn't making me puke I shoot for 80 but don't sweat it if I go over up to 100.0

So most of you are around 60-80gr. I ask because I thought that 150gr is alot considering I`ve been trying to eat that much protein and can`t go above 90gr, so I thought something was off.
Thanks for your replies lovelies ^_^

When I was eating your standard high carb diet, and even when I first started lower carb eating with my goal at 100g carbs a day, I was aiming for 150g protein a day and had no trouble hitting it. Thought I had to to protect my muscles as I lost weight.
When we (hubby and I) went to our doc about his "medical weight loss plan" it turned out the "plan" was limit to max 100g carbs and MINIMUM 100g protein for chicks; max 100g carbs, min 200g protein for guys - my hubby struggled to hit 200 (heck, he struggled to hit *100*) and I could hit his 200g mark daily with little effort.
But since learning more about keto and the potential benefits for several conditions I wrestle with, I've really been trying to keep my protein intake much lower - and finding it to be incredibly difficult!!!! After 2+ years of eating 150g or more every day, all my go-to snacks were high protein; my idea of a proper portion of meat was way out of whack (what, 3 chicken thighs at dinner is too much?!), and so on. It's been much more challenging than I thought it would be to keep it under 100!0 -
I'm in the same boat as you, @Phrick. I always wind up going over on protein. Doing All Animal April hasn't helped that any, either.0

That's generally 1g per pound of LEAN BODY MASS, not total body weight. I'd use the calculator that @Karlottap shared...2 -

^^This but I will add it is generally recommended 0.8-1.0 g of protein per pound of LEAN BODY MASS, sometimes even up to 1.5 but that's more for bodybuilding. So for me, I am roughly 140 lbs, roughly 24% BF which means I am roughly 98 lbs LBM. My range of protein is 78.4-98 g but in reality I eat 72-115 g and I'm ok with that.0 -

Yes. That's true. I was going to come back and edit that to say that 1g was actually what is recommended for those that exercise and work their muscles, but... I never did and the calculators also provide that guidance as well.
Thank you for adding the more detailed explanation.1
