Low Carb Tortilla

In big letters "Low Carb"
cool I'd like real wraps again.
On the back, the nutrition label brought
a crushing halt to my lunch plans.
11 carbs per.
That's more than 1/2 my daily goal.
It's back to the Romaine wraps.

Perhaps that's why "net carbs" appeals to me. I do love my tortillas.2 -
That's like the recipe for Gabi's Low Carb Yeast Bread - at 11g per slice it's lower than most but hardly low enough to indulge in very often0
-
Yep, and even the "low" carb options on those things are the wrong carbs for my body... retrain the brain and total avoidance is a necessary fact of my new way of life.3

Had one at lunch today. Used pizza blend cheese and pepperoni , heated in a dry skillet. Quesadilla style but pizza flavor. Dipped in spicy red pepper tomato sauce.5

Anyone ever try these coconut wraps? Only 4 net carbs! http://www.julianbakery.com/paleo-product/paleo-wraps/?gclid=COSw1rW47swCFQgoaQod8ggN1A
I honestly don't know where to get them though4 -
I wouldn't want to consume the wheat flour no matter how low carb they were anyway...3

Amazon or Thrive Market

Funny thing, the other day my co worker randomly told me how much he is loving lettuce wrap burgers. He isn't low carb but I had given him some tips for his gf as she was struggling to lose weight, and that was one of the things the started eating instead of burger buns.
He says it tastes so good and loves the crisp crunch with the meat and it was easier to eat.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it!5 -

+1 Tortilla Truther
Plenty of choices at 5g or fewer net carbs per tortilla (ergo, 1/2 tortilla servings at < 3g)!2 -
Have you tried the cheese taco? Take pepperjack cheese microwave 1 min the bend to taco shape and cool then fill. Also works as pizza crust worth mozzarella. Tastes like a tortilla3
-
Two of my favorite Tortilla Wraps are OLE Xtreme Wellnes (5 net carbs) and Mission Carb Balance (4g net carbs).4

I found coconut "paleo wraps" the other day. Like a tortilla, but made with only coconut meat, coconut oil, and coconut water. No grains! They were a little expensive, but I'm going to go buy some one of these days. http://www.julianbakery.com/paleo-product/paleo-wraps/?gclid=COzGwsXh8MwCFU1gfgodTGIOlw1

I stay FAR FAR AWAY avoid ALL Julian Bakery products because simply put this company is notorious for knowingly and purposefully listing completely false nutritional information on their "low carb" (HA!) products simply to sell more of their food to the low carb crowd. They have been warned several times by the FDA. Don't believe me, just google them or check out the following links:

Thank you @ladipoet! A public service.
FYI - Here's a 2014 warning letter from the FDA:
http://www.fda.gov/ICECI/EnforcementActions/WarningLetters/2014/ucm407036.htm (alleging things nice people don't do).
Here's further correspondence from 2015 to the effect that Julian took corrective actions that addressed the various mislabeling violations:

The problem with Julien Bakery is that the owner, Heath Squire, repeats the same bad behavior ad nauseum and keeps getting caught at doing it which is why, in my opinion (which admitted may not be worth much), this company and its products are completely untrustworthy.1 -
Good god! That turns up even more unsavory history about the owner and company. Blecchh.
On top of the shenanigans involving understated carb content, the many consumer complaints for expired product (past "best-by" date) and for non-delivery, coupled with the $240,000 lawsuit against Julian by FedEx for non payment, are pretty telling....
Thanks again @ladipoet for sounding the alarm!1 -

Those are my favorite wraps and tortillas to especially when we're on the semi truck for a week or more at a time really helps me not indulge in the bread products my fiancee eats

I enjoy Tumaro's lc wraps, the "NY" style or whatever they call them, are like everything bagels...usually eat these maybe once a month, sometimes only a half of a wrap at a time. Great for a quick breakfast burrito on the weekend.
These are "net" low-carb.
TUMAROS

I'm glad there's low carb options out there, but I still prefer to lettuce wrap things if possible. Extra vitamin A, C, Iron and Calcium. Lord knows I need Iron.
Nutritional info: https://g.co/kgs/FwUI4V0 -
@ladipoet is it safe to assume that even if the nutrition label is off, the ingredients are accurate? I'd rather eat 20g of carbs (just throwing out a number) via coconut than 2g of carbs via grains. Grains don't like me. I'm not sure if I should try those coconut wraps now or not.1

Though I keep the low carb tortillas on hand, I still love my lettuce wraps more often.0 -

@Panda_Poptarts - I can't speak for @ladipoet, but after reading her posts ("this company and its products are completely untrustworthy") and articles the info she provided turned up, I don't think she's likely to entertain the possibility of assuming anything relating to Julian is safe. In fact, I am pretty sure she's going to say something like, "RUN AWAY!"
Personally, I would sooner get vaccinated by Typhoid Mary than buy any product from Julian.2 -

Sigh. No coconut wraps for me.
Probably in my best interest anyway. Their paleo bread made me gassy. Hehe.0 -
If you want to try coconut wraps, I suggest this brand:
http://www.sunfood.com/coconut-wraps-7-pk-3-5oz-raw.html
I have not tried them myself so I canot speak to their taste/quality; however, this is one company I DO trust. lol1 -
