Looks wonderful! I've only tried low cab biscuits - they were ok; a little grainy. I'm just avoiding bread altogether..and rice and potatoes and corn and....I need to get more adventurous with my alternatives

@rowdyslady yeah- the alternative flours are expensive so I didn't get into it right away but I'm tired of eggs and shakes for breakfast. Haha0

Here's my favorite kind of low carb bread.:
http://lowcarbediem.com/low-carb-soul-bread-recipes/
I've made several version of it so far: lemon blueberry, cinnamon pecan, original (this one is SO versatile...made it as hot dog buns but you can make it as anything really...hamburger buns and then use the hamburger buns as individual pizza crust), toasted onion cheddar. I recently made an "orange cranberry" version (my own tweak on this recipe) that turned out very well.4 -
I haven't eaten bread in so long I just don't even think about it anymore.7

I have never been much of a meat person... But I'm learning to be0

That's me too. I've never tried any alternatives and there's no reason to start after a year now1 -

40 minutes 'till delicious!
Looks delicious. But did I miss something? What is the name of this bread and what is the recipe? Or do you have a website with the recipe?
Thank you...

I got it off Pinterest- hopefully this link works. It was super easy!0

I only tried making a bread alternative once with flax and it was VILE!!!
In all fairness, I've never been much of a baker so maybe it was just me!
I only miss the convenience of bread (popping in the toaster in the morning) but when I'm tucking into my scrambled egg and smoked salmon or bacon it's a no-brainer which I prefer!1 -
I haven't made, or consumed, any either, and I'm like @Sunny_Bunny_, why start now?2

The link requires a login to pinterest within mfp. Problematic on android. Is it cloud free bread by food.com? I will look it up on pinterest seperately to find it, thanks! With my crazy allergy reduction mission I now know many of my low carb staples like bacon hate me so I am tempted to explore low carb breads. Thanks again.0

No - it is kind of similar, but definitely not the same. I've made it, it's decent here's the direct link to the blog: Basic Quick Bread0 -
Here's a loaf of the Soul Bread (link posted earlier by @ladipoet) - I love it, A LOT - but that's problematic because it's very high in protein and my love is addiction-level, like "butter the whole loaf and eat it (and nothing else) all day!"

Brilliant. Thanks @Phrick!!0

I also really like to make these Sour Cream and Chive Biscuits - I can't now find a picture of course... We have made them with the feta (delish); with and without chives, and have even substituted cream cheese when we thought we had feta but didn't. With or without the egg wash and paprika dusting (which I usually don't bother with), they're amazing.0

It looks sooooo good. I'm afraid I'd eat the whole loaf too but I miss baking...maybe I'll try it after I have another month under my belt.. I slipped and ate a blizzard last night0

Baking powder and baking soda acquired. Tricky to locate in local supermarket. Now I know what they look like (not same as Australia) and that they are not in a baking section much easier. Ready to go with @Phrick's suggested biscuits.1

Yummy! This look great! The bread I made is pretty dense. I will give this recipe a shot!

yay I hope you love them as much as we do!0 -
.!
Oh thanks for that. I must admit, I can be quite an addict when it comes to breads. My gut does not like grains, or tolerate them well at all.. so I'm not sure if I should even try. Perhaps I'll take not of this yummy looking bread, and keep it somewhere for a treat in a year's time or something- OR , maybe ask a friend to make it for me- in a year's time after I have lost 20-30kg more.0 -
@Phrick "biscuits" AKA scones for the Brits and Aussies amongst us are yum!! Made a half batch and had them hot. Approved by my carb loving husband as well as this low carb queen. Carb king added apricot jam to his whereas I added creme fraische and butter on mine.3

This thread inspired me and I made some 2 minute muffins from sugarfreemom and they were fab! I substituted peanut butter for cashew - other then that followed it! For lazy non-bakers like myself, it was very easy!

I've tried the soul bread and didn't like it. I've made the cloud bread and it's not what I hoped for either. I'm now using 100% rye bread made by a friend of mine. It's very heavy but can be sliced very thin. It's from the whole grain and has no white flour or sugar. But the carbs are still about 11 grams per slice. It's a trade off I guess, the flavor I'm looking for and carbs. I've read that rye has a very minimal insulin reaction.2

I use multigrain ryvita crackers (4 net carbs each) instead of bread. I wasn't a big bread eater anyway, so it does the job.0

I love cream cheese pancakes ~ those sort of fall in the bread category (: I also like to wrap one around a sausage with some melted cheese ~~ sooo good!2

That's really not that bad considering. A lot of breads are 25g per slice.0
