My mom and aunt always used to eat this fresh from my Grandpa's garden when I was growing up. I was never a fan because I can't stand raw onion and back in my carby days, I couldn't tolerate sour cream and such without getting sick. I still can't do raw onions, but sour cream and I are friends now. I wonder if this would taste okay without the onions? I might try it if so!0

I think my only change would be to use a mandolin on those cucumbers. Uniform and so much thinner then I can get with a knife. That would be fab with salmon. I always make my salmon with dill, lemon, and butter. The dill in the salad would pick up the dill in the fish. Yummm.2
