@wifiresgettingfit Yes and I love my iced tea. It's more difficult here I think because especially eating out there are no calories anywhere, so it was only after I had it that I realised just how bad it was. I remember when I was in the states at TGI Fridays restaurant the calories were on the menu! I don't know why we don't have that...

Haha yeah I'd loooove a milkshake now... damn :p

@CharliWhitman I eat at a couple places that have no nutritional information (no website - nothing on the menus) (and this also happens if I visit someone)- I just guestimate as close as I can. It isn't my favorite thing to do but it seems to work just as well. The only time I've had my weight loss hindered is when I was knowingly over consuming.

I don't have room for a milkshake today but may squeeze it in tomorrow. haha

@wifiresgettingfit Yeah I end up estimating a lot. I think just the act of trying to log everything is enough really. We all know when we've had too much really, we are just good at ignoring it!

Yeah I don't think the 60 odd calories I have left today is enough for milk... let alone milkshake!

@CharliWhitman Yeah that's true. Though I admit I can really pack it away some days and still don't feel full. haha I'm like a bottomless pit, thankfully that doesn't happen often.

I had about 500 and some left but hadn't has dinner yet. You could fit some milk in but not a whole glass! =P

Hi All, my name is Shy and I am from Virginia. I am 38 and trying to lose weight before I start fertility treatment plan this September. My heaviest weight was 205 lbs about a week and half ago, but I decided to get real serious about focusing on myself no matter how much craziness is happening around me. :) Current weight is 197lbs and I plan to stay healthy, eat right and focus on me and trying to conceive...hopefully this will be motivation enough for me to keep it up. I've been a yo-yo dieter and it's hard for me to pay attention to myself and my health needs which usually go on the back burner when I am trying to help and take care of my family. I am looking forward to visiting this board more often and wishing you ladies lots of baby dust!

@shyjaan We are happy to have you! We're here to support you in your efforts, as we're all here for similar reasons.

There is a group spreadsheet in the description that you're welcome to join anytime. It's not a really active spreadsheet but you might still find it useful. It usually starts on the 1st of every month, but you can start using it even joining now.

I'm so happy to have found this group. I've been looking online for the past couple weeks and I haven't been able to find a forum for people trying to lose weight BEFORE ttc and I was beginning to doubt such a thing existed. My name is Rae. I'm hoping to start ttc sometime next year, but before we try I want to slim down to 185 pounds which is 80 pounds less than my start weight. I'm worried about the risk of gestational diabetes and other health risks that come with being an overweight mom-to-be so I really want to get healthy before we even start trying. I would love to chat with other similarly motivated ladies.

Hi Rae! Welcome to the group! I'm glad you will be joining us. Its true there aren't a lot of support groups for weight loss before ttc. Good luck with your goals and check out the spreadsheet. It might be a little quiet for now but I'm hoping to get back into it since it seems I'm gaining weight faster than expected lol.

@arendiva Welcome to the group Rae, we're glad to have you!

We have something in common; I also would like to lose about 80 pounds before TTC but I've been at this weight loss thing for a couple years though without much progress and that's been my goal the entire time. haha

@WifiresGettingFit Don't be discouraged, everyday is a new day to remotivate and get on track. I'm new to the whole ttc thing but this is by no means my first rodeo when it comes to weightless stuff. While it's easy to get mad at myself for letting the pounds creep back up after having worked so hard back in 2010 to get down to a healthy weight I've found for myself that self-recrimination isn't helpful. It's better to look forward to what you can do now to make things better. Best of luck on your ongoing efforts. :)

Arrrgh, I just posted this in the TTC thread by mistake... so here it is again!

Hi! I'm new to this group. I've been TTC for a little over 4 years, had one m/c in 2016, and have a 12yr old daughter... so I know it is possible for me to get pregnant! I live in NZ
I'm waiting to see a Fertility specialist for a second appointment (had my first appointment in March). Hoping this will be next month. The aim is to reduce my weight to help with ovulation and hormone regulation (I have PCOS), and start me on a fertility drug. I have already lost a little over 25kg, and am close to the weight the specialist wanted me to hit (still another 25kg away from goal though!)

    Fingers are crossed!
