Do I have to use coconut oil? Can I just do butter, hwc, and coffee? Also can I put hot coffee in my bullet?

I use the Kerry Gold and heavy WC ....nothing with coconut ever ...keeps me full for hours ( decaf coffee or tea).0

That, I couldn't tell you. I use an immersion blender, so it's just an aluminum shaft leading down into a small dome with a spinning blade inside.0 -

I did it that way when I was drinking BPC. I don't like the taste of the coconut oil in it, so I just use HWC now and don't need to blend. But yes, my blender was just fine.0 -
Bulletproof's Brain Octane Oil is pure gold as far as how good it makes me feel and is practically flavorless. Super alternative to coconut oil.0

Soooo... The idea of bulletproof coffee is technically to consume energy that doesn't trigger digestion, technically ending your overnight fasting, so HWC voids that. But, if you're just wanting to use it as a meal and method to get some fat... Then you make it however you want to.
If your blender is plastic, it will most likely damage it over a short amount of time. I learned that the hard way. But mine was cheapo one. Don't know if that matters0 -
I use a magic bullet & the heat doesn't seem to bother it. Just tough opening it sometimes as heat seems to seal the blade bottom to the blender cup.0

So for a new twist on Bulletproof Coffee.
Cooked my bacon.
Stored the grease in the fridge.
Next morning I put some in my drip coffee maker.
Bacon flavoured coffee.4 -

The sensible part of me feels like this would be terrible. The sodium craving, bacon loving, fat-centric part of me has decided to save some bacon fat from this afternoon's cooking.6 -

I use my Bosch blender which is plastic with metal blades. Never had a problem. Just be careful how full you fill a blender. From experience, I never fill it more than 1/3 when I am blending hot liquids like coffee/soup/purée. You do not want the blender to pressurize and pop the top off. Aside from the burn potential, it takes about a hundred man hours to clean it all out of the nooks and crannies in your kitchen.2

Think about it this way, @sheilaparsleyministries - If you use cream in your coffee, you're already there. Butter is just cream with the liquid whey whipped out.3 -

Think about it this way, @sheilaparsleyministries - If you use cream in your coffee, you're already there. Butter is just cream with the liquid whey whipped out.
At first I didn't think butter would be good either, but I really enjoy it now. I use my Ninja to blend it and that makes it a lot better than just stirring it.

I couldn't either, until I did it. Both butter and coconut oil. A lot of people talk about not liking the flavor of coconut oil but you can get it unflavored. Crisco and Carrington Farms both make one with no flavor. I now love coffee all blended up. I was adding whipping cream at first and a LOT of it because I thought it would mask the butter. In about 3 weeks or so I was down to no whipping cream at all. I finally purchased and immersion hand blender - so fast! I was using my blender but I hated breaking it down and washing it every morning for just one cup of coffee.1 -

I use hwc and occasionally butter. I don't do IF so it's mainly because 1- I love the taste of whipping cream and 2-butter for extra fat only. I can tolerate the coconut oil if I so decide to use it. I just prefer the butter. Lately I have been drinking my coffee with HWC only then mid morning i drink chicken bouillon with lite salt and butter. Now THAT is delicious!!!0

I don't understand... how would coconut oil and butter not trigger digestion? Why is this important and how does it end fasting but not trigger digestion?2 -

I'm not understanding that either... the HWC I use has 1g carbs and 5g fat per Tb. The butter I add has 11g fat per Tb. So the point is to have 100% fat and 0g of carbs vs. the 1g because that entire gram will convert to glucose immediately?0 -
Most folks don't use only 1 TBSP of HWC, and it's rounded up on your container. HWC has 6.4 grams per cup, which I think comes out to 0.42 grams per TBSP. And yes, anything more than 5 grams of carbs starts up glucose metabolism, which is what some folks use it for. But if you're using it as a breakfast/meal substitute or supplement, you're good however you make it.1

I use a tbsp of the kerrygold butter and a tbsp of MCT oil I got at gnc. Coconut oil isn't my favorite and I'm still working on adjusting to the flavor. The MCT oil works perfect for me and while derived from coconut, does not taste like coconuts. And yes, I blend it hot in my little single serve blender I have. I'm looking for immersion blenders on sale to make cleanup easier, though.0
