I've found Prosecco and Champagne that do not stall my progress.
Some are between 1-3 carbs and quite good.
Have read that white alcohol is also low carb but it isn't something I enjoy, i.e. rum, vodka, gin.
    Great Topic!

I was actually thinking about foregoing my daily glass (or two) of wine with dinner, perhaps saving it for weekends or special occasions. I've done this before, but I replaced it (ironically) with a glass of milk at dinner and there is a lot more carb content in that milk than there is in the wine! What to do, what to do...

I'm so happy that I can take or leave alcohol. I LOVE a great Bloody Mary on occasion and had a few when I was out of town for work when I first started Keto but I never go to a restaurant with my family or friends and think that I want alcohol to drink. I think, because sweet stuff is such an issue for me, if I liked alcohol too much, I'd surely fail...or be an alcoholic already! Fighting the sugar battle has been hard enough for sure!

A nutritionist told me a long time ago to treat the wine as a "sometimes" desert. If you feel like you really want a drink (like after dealing with a particularly, cranky in-law - ;) ) just have a shot of vodka or tequila. Same effect but without the carbs.

OK this might seem kinda weird but I'll tell ya anyway. I used to love wine & we even made wine & had a stocked rack of it in the basement all types. Then a priest friend got cancer & I tried to make a bargain with God (now I don't even know if I believe or would do this) but that was then - I said if the priest got healed - I would quit drinking wine forever(keep in mind which I LOVED) so in good faith I started my part. I went a couple of months no drinking. The priest died. Alas! But the upshot was I never started drinking again because just 1 sip of wine made me feel sick. SO now I haven't had a drink for years and I like it like that. Was this a Win/Lose situation or Lose/Win situation etc.- who knows - except all that to say this I found when I quit drinking wine I never missed it.

I could never stay on a food plan that didn't include the occasional dark chocolate and wine treat. I don't need them every night/week but at some point I need to sit and enjoy. I have lost weight doing this, I kept weight off doing this. For me it is bread, pasta, and potatoes that does in every diet I have tried. Not this time. Sorry got back on topic ;)
