    My reaction exactly, @Phrick.

LC already makes people skeptical and now I think this exacerbates it

The article features the woman behind the Keto Karma Instagram. I think she started at just under 300 lbs so it is definitely possible for that to happen.

Admittedly, I haven't read the article but I don't know if I want to.

While even a broken clock is right twice per day, Oz is more like a clock with hands made of feathers, in a tornado. Why couldn't he just stick to humping ridiculous ideas that never accomplish anything?

I'm less worried about this making people view Keto as a fad diet, and more worried about it giving him credibility.

:D ...especially your last line @Gallowmere1984! LOL

I'm so happy there is no one in this thread that actually thinks "Dr." Oz knows what he is talking about. I despise woo.

49 pounds in 8 weeks. Why not 50? Lol.
That is great. What are the key things you are doing? I have been at this for 5 weeks and I haven't figure out the magic formula yet.

I believe @AngInCanada was making fun of the headline...

There's pretty much zero chance in hell for that to happen, thankfully. He'll be onto the next thing before too long. Once he spends through the paycheck for the mag sales on keto and is needing his next cash infusion. Or when the devil he's sold his soul to yanks his chain next. :smirk:

Ugh. So embarrassing to be affiliated with something Dr. Oz is endorsing. This week at least...next week it'll be dangerous.

He is consistently inconsistent. He is a television personality.

Probably a more believable, less rounded, number. With that said, I lost 29 lbs in 30 days. Where's my magazine cover?

If you were heavy enough to begin with then you could conceivably lose 49 pounds in 8 weeks, I think, but magazine writers chose their numbers entirely at random : "998 Top tips for a clean fridge!" Etc.

Good call! If being in National Enquirer or a commercial during the olympix is what it takes to introduce sensible diet concepts into the thick collective noggins of our Positively Intractable & Stupid Sisters, so be it.

Seriously, would we really prefer that Oz be reinforcing existing superstitions by peddling the Coke & Candy Corn diet?

PS. Dr. Perlmutter is an Oz advisor, I seem to recall. Definitely not a Twinkie pusher...

Does this mean we're going to have an onslaught of Oz followers on here asking the same questions over and over again?

Yeeeeaaah, that's kind of what I was expecting too. Drones gonna drone unfortunately, and there's nothing we can do about it, but either keep repeating ourselves, or start giving Burt stares. The latter is usually less helpful, but eventually just kind of happens.

Only a minority of munchkins will make their way here, and with redirection to the LCD Launch Pad, perhaps some deprogramming can take place.

We all found the path to our renegade LC routines from some other planet... For many of us (who, me?), our alien days are not that far behind us.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks Dr. Oz is a quack. I do hope it's a case of any press is good press.

Just saw a commercial for an exerciser where the guy lost 54 lbs in some weeks using the exerciser. Of course in the fine print they say your results may vary and that he followed the complementary diet plan provided that they don't explain.

Gee, I wonder what kind of plan that was?
